NOTICE OF FIRST PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING COMMUNITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
The City Council of the City of Tampa will hold a Public Hearing regarding the City’s FY2020 1-Year Action Plan which includes the Community Development Block Grant Program, Emergency Solutions Grant Program, HOME Investment Partnership Program, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program, at 5:30 P.M., on March 28, 2019, or as soon thereafter as practicable, at City Council Chambers, Third Floor, City Hall, 315 East Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, Florida.
The Purpose of this Public Hearing shall be to:
1) Present information concerning the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Thirty-Ninth Entitlement; Emergency Solution Grants (ESG); HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Grant, and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Programs (HOPWA) Grant, including, but not limited to, the types of activities previously undertaken, the anticipated level of funding, the range of eligible activities, and other pertinent program requirements.
2) Obtain, at the initial stage of program development, the views and comments of citizens concerning community development, priority housing and non-housing needs.
3) Afford to any person or organization the opportunity to be heard.
4) Announce the release of the FY2020/PY2019 Request for Proposals for CDBG program funding. Mandatory workshops will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 9am -12pm and Thursday, April 4, 2019 from1pm-4pm at The Children’s Board located at 1002 E. Palm Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605. The purpose of these workshops shall be to:
a. To present information concerning the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Thirty Ninth Entitlement, including, but not limited to, the types of activities previously undertaken, the anticipated level of funding, the range of eligible activities, and other pertinent program requirements.
b. Review the application process.
c. Clarify all submission dates and provide updated documents.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, persons with disabilities needing special accommodation to participate in the Public Hearing should contact the City Clerk’s office at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the date of the Public Hearing.
