MR. ALVIN MACK
In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Mr. Alvin Mack, whom lived his life with an unselfish heart and unmovable faith in God. He was a pillar of strength in his community and served as the patriarch for his family, leaving a legacy of love and service.
Mr. Alvin Mack was born Novem- ber 29, 1929, in Clarendon County, South Carolina, to the late Fred and Hattie Mack.
He was affectionately called “Daddy Mack” by his loved ones. He moved to Tampa, Florida, at the age of sixteen (16) for better opportuni- ties. He was known as a compassion- ate, giving, and hardworking man.
He joined the Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida, under the leadership of the late Elder Theodis Lane.
Quietly and obediently, he served as a faithful member of the Trustee Board and anywhere he was needed. As Alvin’s life continued to thrive, he met the love of his life, Ruby A. Tim- mons, and was united in holy matri- mony on February 13, 1959.
God blessed this union with 61 years of marital bliss and three beau- tiful daughters (Tina, Tonya, and Regina) and one grandchild (Alexy). With the opportunity to expand his career, Alvin began working as a Longshoreman, where he retired as a Header where he trained for over 60 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his sidekick, grand- daughter, Alexy.
“Daddy Mack” was an outdoors- man and enjoyed working in his yard and volunteering with the landscap- ing of his church. He enjoyed watch- ing game shows, like the Price is Right (Everything stopped for the
Price is Right), Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud with Steve Harvey. He loved Steve Harvey’s suits.
His favorite sport was baseball, and the Boston Red Sox was his fa- vorite team. “Daddy Mack” also en- joyed frying fish and shrimp for his family and friends.
He answered God’s call after a short illness on Sunday, January 3, 2021, around the hour of 6:30 p.m.
