Third Annual National Fam Awards Honors Kindness Of The Heart
For The Family, Inc., will host its 3rd annual Fam Awards today (Friday, November 16th), 12 noon – 2 p. m. (Registration 11:30 a. m.)
The awards program will be held at the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, 1002 E. Palm Avenue, Tampa.
This special ceremony cele- brates the real-life actions of car- ing individuals just as the Academy Awards recognize the accomplishments of actors. It culminates the year-long activi- ties encompassing Kindness of the Heart, an ongoing celebration of the positive that will continue in 2019 and beyond.
The purpose of the event is to emphasize the importance of simple kindness when its value is too often minimized by the dis- proportionate attention given to actions that are anything but kind.
Family Flame Awards and $100 gift cards will be presented by a broad range of community leaders to individuals who were nominated through brief videos in the following categories: Par- ent, Son, Daughter, First Respon- der, Volunteer, Random Acts of Kindness, Praise and Gratitude, and Kind Programs and Initia- tives.
For The Family Administra- tor Ward Cox notes that “Doing good for one another is the glue that keeps us together no matter what challenges we face. At a time when divisiveness is in the air, we must remember the caring spirit that exists within people from all walks of life.”
