The suspects parked in a nearby driveway and waited until she began to unload her groceries. At that point, the pas- senger in the vehicle ap- proached the woman, armed with a silver, semi-automatic handgun. The suspect forcibly took the victim’s purse and they drove away in the vehicle.
The victim called police and deputies located her purse in a trash can at the Git-N-Go, 7802 Rideout Road. The victim was not injured.

Last week, a federal jury found a Tampa man not guilty of threatening a federal judge. However, he was found guilty of two other charges. Jason Jerome Springer was in- dicted by a federal grand jury in April.
During his trial last week, jurors found him guilty of ob- struction of justice and at- tempting to tamper with a witness.
According to court docu- ments, Springer, 39, threat- ened to assault and murder Judge Elizabeth Ko- vachevich. The threat was made in retaliation against the judge presiding over his case.
After learning of the threat, Judge Kovachevich, 80, re- cused herself from his case. He was in jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Officials did not reveal why Springer was under investiga- tion. However, the arrest came about after he visited a gun range in Tampa. He was ob- served on video firing 3 guns and expending 12 rounds of ammunition.
Springer was convicted of possession with intent to de- liver or sell marijuana in June 2010, and cannot possess a

The agents determined that Springer and his roommate had visited the shooting range and the video was posted the same day.
Based on the information gathered during the investiga- tion, Springer was arrested on November 22, 2016, and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
