T. I. Rips Lil Wayne For Black Lives Matter Comments On Nightline; Lil Wayne Has Since Apologized
T. I. and Lil Wayne Almost a full week after Lil
Wayne explained his discon- nect with the Black Lives Mat- ter movement, T. I. is attempting to set him on a dif- ferent path. The Grand Hustle leader peeped Wayne’s Night- line interview Saturday (Nov. 5), and he’s requesting that the Young Money founder stop “embarrassing” himself (and his fans).
“Wayne I’ve known you over a decade,” T. I. began in the post. “Our daughters grew up together practically. Regi- nae’ spent countless times at my house with Niq-Niq when you were in prison & you ex- tended my daughter the same courtesy when I was in the same position. Our relation- ship outside of music is what makes me sensitive to your dis- position.”
With all that said, Tip still doesn’t feel where Wayne is coming from with his dismissal of BLM.
Like any loving big brother, Tip gently reminded Wayne that no matter how much money he has or material things he’s able to afford, in- tegrity will always be priceless.
Lil Wayne Apologizes
Lil Wayne offered an apol- ogy for his controversial com- ments about the Black Lives Matter movement during his interview with Nightline.
TMZ caught up with Weezy F and the New Orleans rapper explained his stance on the dis- turbing sit-down, and said he became agitated with the re- porter when she questioned him about his daughter.
“When the reporter began asking me questions about my daughter being labeled a b**h and a h*e, I got agitated. From there, there was no thought put into her questions and my re- sponses,” the 34-year-old rap- per said. “Apologies to anyone who was offended.”
Wayne’s apology come a lit- tle too late as many have taken to Twitter to state their opinion on his comments, which for the most part weren’t great.
Jill Scott And Anthony Hamilton Among Artists Who Performed At Soul Train Weekend
Jill Scott and Anthony Hamilton performed.
Wednesday night the 50th Annual CMA Awards aired live on ABC with its usual country stars such as Carrie Under- wood, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride and more were in attendance. However, one unlikely artist took the stage in Music City: Beyonce!
The singer performed her country-leaning song “Daddy Lessons” from her album Lemonade at the awards cere- mony last night along with fel- low Texans The Dixie Chicks.
Looking gorg in a soft, an-
gelic sheer dress that showed off her figure in the stage lights, Beyonce and The Dixie Chicks performed the song and fused together country ele- ments, adding a brass section for a New Orleans flare, and even added hip-hop elements that had the arena jumping!
However, not everyone was impressed by Beyonce’s per- formance. Many country music fans feel as if the genre is being infiltrated by too many “pop” influences and didn’t appreciate Beyonce’s presence at the cer- emony.
Jill Scott, Tyrese, An- thony Hamilton and Tish Hyman hit the stage as part of the Soul Train Weekend “Soul Train Music Festival” at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
American singer-songwriter
and rapper, Tish Hyman, kicked off the festivities with her smooth hits such as “Sub- way Art” and “Four Letter Word, while artists like An- thony Hamilton, Jill Scott and Tyrese performed.
Kid Cudi Checks Out Of Rehab And Performs At ComplexCon
Kid Cudi and Pharrell backstage.
On Saturday (November 5) night, Kid Cudi performed for the first time since check- ing into rehab at ComplexCon held at the Long Beach Con- vention Center. He even brought out Pharrell and Travis Scott to share the mo- ment with him.
It’s been a little over a month since the Grammy Award-win- ning rapper, born Scott Mes- cudi, went on his Twitter rant blasting Drake and Kanye West before he voluntarily checked himself into rehab for anxiety, depression and suici- dal urges.
His admission to rehab has sparked a healthy conversa- tion about mental health and even caused Drake to be on the receiving end of negative publicity when he dissed Cudi on his song “Two Birds, One Stone.”
The 32-year-old superstar artist performed some of his biggest hits including “Pursuit of Happiness” as well as his new records “Frequency” and “Surfin’,” which are both slated to appear on his forth- coming project Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.
