Bucs Beat Colts, But Still Eliminated From The Playoffs
Jameis Winston Has Career Day In Win
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers pulled out the win on Sunday, downing the Indi- anapolis Colts 38-35 to win their third-straight game and pull their record to 6-7. With the win, Tampa Bay avoided their third-straight 5-11 sea- son, which is certainly some- thing to celebrate.
Quarterback Jameis Winston threw an intercep- tion on his first pass attempt of the game, which led to a Jacoby Brissett touch- down pass, then had another pick returned for an 80-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Things could’ve got- ten worse, too, because Winston threw his third in- terception of the game in the fourth quarter in Tampa Bay territory, but the Colts missed a 47-yard field goal that would’ve extended their lead by seven. Fortunately, Winston also had four touchdown passes and a ca- reer-high in passing yards

with 456 to go along with one rushing touchdown.
Evans Goes Down Aside from Winston, the biggest story of the day was the hamstring injury to wide receiver Mike Evans, who went to the locker room after he came up limping follow- ing his 61-yard touchdown
reception.
It’s hard to say how long
Evans will be out for, but an injury to their top receiver is a big setback for a team on a three-game winning-streak.
   Former NFL Player George
Atkinson, III Dies Nearly
A Year After His Brother
Committed Suicide
Former Cleveland Browns running back George Atkinson III died Tuesday at the age of 27.
According to Pete Sampson of The Athletic, the cause of death hasn't been released, but Atkin- son has been dealing with depression since twin his brother, Josh, took his life a year ago.
Shortly after losing Josh, George, who'd been a star college football athlete at Notre Dame, wrote a letter centered on the bond he had with his twin. The 27-year- old described the struggles of living with a mother who was addicted to drugs and how he and his brother relied on one other to survive a rough childhood.
George said the twins lived with their uncle for al- most two years after being taken from their mom. Their father, George Atkinson, II, who was also a profes- sional football player, de- cided to take the twins when they were about 13 years old.
The brothers focused on school and received scholar-

ships from Notre Dame, where they starred on the football field. George then signed with the Raiders in 2014, where he played one season before joining the Browns in 2016. The running back last played for the New York Jets in 2018.
As he was suffering from depression following the death of his brother and mother, George said he was trying to harm himself also, but he started thinking about his 2-year-old daughter.
"I knew I had to find a way to keep going and be a role model for her," he wrote. "Without my daughter, I don’t know where I would be right now. She gave me that second wind of motivation."
In what became a shootout in Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers were able to comeback from a 35-21 deficit in the third quarter and se- cure a 38-35 win behind Jameis Winston’s 456 yards, 5 touchdown (4 pass- ing, 1 rushing) and yes, 3 in- terceptions.
Despite getting the win, to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Bucs needed the Detroit Lions to beat the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, which, un- fortunately, didn’t happen.
It’s tough to be eliminated from the playoffs, let alone following a win. This late in the season if you’re not a divi- sion leader, that’s the name of
Bucs receiver Breshad Perriman caught the game-winning touchdown pass Sunday.
 Sammy Watkins,
the game. Don’t expect the Bucs to let off the gas though, with the second youngest ros- ter in the league, this is very much needed experience for
the team going forward.
The playoffs may be out of the picture for this season, but there is a lot to build on
towards next season.
Odell Beckham Has Told Opponents He Wants Out Of Cleveland
ODELL BECKHAM, JR.
Odell Beckham, Jr.
hinted earlier in the week that he may not be thrilled with his current situation in Cleveland, and apparently that is some- thing he has been telling op- posing players and coaches throughout the season.
Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported on Sunday that Beckham has spoken with players and coaches on other teams before and during Browns games this year and encouraged them to try trad- ing for him during the offsea- son. Glazer added that he does not see the relationship between Beckham and the Browns ending well after their first season together.
“Throughout this year, Odell Beckham has actually told other players and coaches before games and during games, ‘Hey, come get me. Come get me,'” Glazer said. Beckham had 2 catches in Sunday's game.
  Stephon Gilmore Get
Into Sideline Scrap
Sammy Watkins and Stephon Gilmore got into a scrap on the sidelines dur- ing the fourth quarter of Sun- day’s Kansas City Chiefs-New England Patriots game.
The Chiefs had a first down from their 18 up 23-16 on the Patriots and decided to run an option. Patrick Mahomes pitched to Tyreek Hill, who rushed for a short gain. Watkins was down field blocking Gilmore, and the two kept going at it on the sidelines.
No penalty was called on the play even though their scrap seemed extracurricu- lar.
Sammy Watkins and Stephon Gilmore got tangled up on the Chiefs sideline.
The two used to be team- mates on the Buffalo Bills and went to rival colleges — Clemson for Watkins, and South Carolina for Gilmore.
  Baker Mayfield Apologizes
For Throwing Browns’
Medical Staff Under The Bus
Baker Mayfield made some surprising comments on Sunday about the way the Cleveland Browns’ medical staff handled an injury Odell Beckham, Jr. has been dealing with, and it wasn’t long before the quarterback issued an apology.
Following Cleveland’s 27- 19 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Mayfield was asked about a report that claimed Beckham has been dealing with a sports hernia all year that is going to require sur- gery after the season. May- field said the injury “wasn’t handled right” and has been a source of frustration for Beckham.
BAKER MAYFIELD
Less than an hour later, Mayfield took to Twitter and apologized for making Cleve- land’s medical staff look bad. He also admitted he does not know all of the facts about OBJ’s injury. Beckham has stated he wants out of Cleve- land.
