Cook for the Old Orleans. Motel-Maison Rouge Restaurant where she served many famous celebrities in- cluding Red Foxx. She worked there for many years prior to
the closing of the restaurant. Ms. Connie became the Head Cook at the Ramada Hotel in North Tampa for many years. She later opened her own Soul Food restaurant in 1996 in the Belmont Heights area, she called it “Connie’s Place,” there she served some of Tampa’s prominent professionals and elected officials. After many years of being in business, she had to close her restaurant due to failing health. Cooking was Connie’s labor of love and a very special gift. She also had a green thumb and could grow just about anything. She loved
her foods and plants.

Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5 – 8 p. m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa.
Friends are asked to assem- ble at the church at approxi- mately 10:45 a. m. Saturday for the service.

BROTHER REYNALDO D. MCQUAY
Brother Reynaldo D. Mc- Quay slipped into eternal rest on June 28, 2016 at Tampa Community Hospital (for- merly TNC).
Brother McQuay was a Tampa native. He was well- known for his compassion to serve the elderly with general home repairs and known by many for doing home im- provements. He was known for his love of the land and landscaping. His motto was, “Every home is a castle, small or grand.”
There was no greater love than that for his Lord, and his wife, Sister Hue Ellen DuBose McQuay and family.
He also leaves to cherish his fond, fun-loving memo- ries: 4 daughters, a son, mother, 11 siblings, 3 grand- daughters, 5 grandsons and grand gods0n.
Brother McQuay was pre- ceded in death by his father, 2 brothers and a sister.
A celebration of life for Brother McQuay is forthcom- ing. Graveside service is Sat- urday, July 9th.

MR. GREGORY L. SINGFIELD
Mr. Gregory L. Singfield of Tampa passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the presence of his family. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Pastor Donald Lott, officiating.
Mr. Singfield was a native of New York, New York and a resi- dent of Tampa for 58 years. He left New York as an infant and was raised in Tampa and was educated by the School District of Hillsborough County. He was a Chef by profession working at 42nd Street Bistro, Shells, Man- grove, Bella’s and other restau- rants for the past 37 years. He had a passion for gardening and cooking holiday meals to serve to his friends and the homeless on Kennedy Boulevard and the Hyde Park Area. His joy was al- ways helping others and shar- ing anything he had.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Dorothy Mae Singfield and Leonzo Cumin; grandparents, Thomas Gainer Sr. and Marie Gainer; aunts, Sallie Mae Pinder, Louise Owens (Madea), Brenda Gainer-Edwards and uncle, Francisco Gainer.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his life partner, Sara Lombardo-Sternfeld of Tampa; sister, Carolyn Hart of Atlanta, GA; brother, Michael Singfield (Maria) of Valrico, FL; uncle, Thomas Gainer Jr. of Lake City, FL; niece, Rhonda Butler (Jerry) of East Point, GA; two nephews, Terrell Campbell of Atlanta, GA and Lowell Reed Sr. of Lake City, FL; great nephew, Lowell Reed Jr. of Lake City, FL; cousins, Janet Pinder-Edwards of Montgomery, AL, Kenneth Lee (Coletta) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Ronald Owens of Tampa, FL, Kim Gainer- Cesar (Miguel) of Tampa, FL and Anthony Hall (Mary) of Ocala, FL; friends, Chilly Hollaway, Joseph Carter, Jesse Williams, Keith Chap- man, Benny McDee and Eric Hopkins.

REVEREND WALTER LEROY TURNER
Reverend Walter Leroy Turner of Tampa, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016. A Homegoing Cele- bration will be held Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive A. M. E. Church, 1902 W. LaSalle Street, Reverend Gregory Gay, Pastor, officiat- ing with Reverend Dr. James D. Sykes, Pastor of Moore’s Chapel AME, eulogist. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Reverend Turner was a na- tive and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. He was edu- cated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton Sen- ior High School, Class of 1942 with honors. He enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably in the Chemical Warfare Division during World War II. Rev- erend Turner retired as a Dean with the School District of Hillsborough County. He served as Pastor of several local AME Churches, but prior to serving in ministry he was a member of Mt. Olive AME Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Mamie Lee Turner; son, John Melton Turner; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of other sorrowing rela- tives, church family and friends.
The remains will repose after 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 8 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Av- enue. In lieu of flowers, dona- tions may be made to the First Mt. Carmel AME Church Scholarship, in honor of Rev- erend Walter L. Turner, 4406 N. 26th Street, Tampa, FL 33610.

Ms. Latoya Ginell Stephens, affectionately known as “HT Da Country Gul” of Apollo Beach, FL passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Funeral serv- ices will be conducted Satur- day, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. at First Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 6012 Edina Street, Wimauma, FL with Reverend Tony B. Harris, of- ficiating.
Interment will follow in Wimauma Community Ceme- tery.
Ms. Stephens was a native of Harrisburg, PA and a resi- dent of the Tampa Bay Area for 33 years. She educated by the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County and was a gradu- ate of East Bay High School. She was a member of First Prospect M. B. Church and was a self employed musi- cian.

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Constance Burnette Johnson Polite, also known as Ms. Connie, who the Lord softly called home on July 2, 2016 will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Bible Based Fellowship –Temple Terrace, 8718 N. 46th Street, Tampa, at 11 A. M., Rev. Dr. Earl B. Mason, Sr., Pastor with Elder James Reed, Pastor of Grace Mary Missionary Bap- tist Church, officiating, with Pastor Alfonso Ross, Eulogist of Live Oak, FL.
Interment will follow in Or- ange Hill Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Johnson; mother, Evelyn Franklin Day; brothers, Jimmy Lee Day and James Day; her only sister, Retha Mae Ross; son, Fredrick Polite; daughter-in-law, LaTonya Wilson; grandson, Corey Polite; her beloved uncle and aunt, Henry “Bo” Washing- ton and Gertrude Franklin- Washington.

Constance B. Polite Polite was born on May 5, 1934 in Madison, Florida. She later moved to Live Oak, Florida where she attended public schools. After completing school she moved to Tampa, Florida for the remaining years of her life.
At an early age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She developed a good work ethic at a young age.
Ms. Connie was a domestic helper for some of Tampa’s most influential families in the Davis Island, Palma Ceia and Hyde Park areas. She later be- came a Supervisor and Head
