   SMITH
MRS. BETTY JEAN WATERS
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean Waters, 4526 4th Av- enue South, St. Petersburg, Florida, who passed away on October 26, 2020, will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 1 P. M. at Bethel Com- munity Baptist Church, 2901 54th Avenue South, with Rev- erend Manual Sykes, Pastor, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Royal Palm Cemetery South, St. Petersburg, Florida
Mrs. Betty Jean Waters, was a native of Plant City, Florida, and formerly resided in Tampa. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, Florida, and was also affiliated with the Lily White Lodge, Eastern Star Lodge and Elks Club.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four sons, Ronnie Daniels (Darlene), Alvin Bow- man, Calvin Bowman, and Craig Bowman; three daugh- ters, Julia Wright, Vivian Bow- man, and Janice Bowman-Johnson (Gareth); 28 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren, other relatives.
Visitation will be held Fri- day, November 6, 2020, 4-7 P. M. at Smith Funeral Home, 1534 18th Avenue South, St. Pe- tersburg, Florida 33705 / (727) 894-2266.
WILSON
MR. ARTHUR LEE GARDNER, JR.
Mr. Arthur Lee Gardner, Jr., (68) went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. The home-going service will be held on Saturday, Novem- ber 7, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Tampa the Culbreath Chapel, 302 W Kennedy Blvd. Tampa, Florida from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Military Honors will be conducted by MacDill Air Force Honor Guards.
The family asks for those at- tending to please get tested for COVID-19 before Saturday. Tem- peratures will be taken at the door, and masks and hand sani- tizer will be made available.
Mr. Arthur Lee Gardner, Jr., was born in Dawson, GA, on July 15, 1952 to Arthur Lee Gardner, Sr., (father), and Florene Gard- ner, (mother). Arthur, also known as “A.G.,” was a graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School.
He was recruited to play col- lege football, but instead decided to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force.
Arthur would later marry his childhood family friend, Delaine Z. Williams. Through this mar- riage, he fathered two wonderful children, Kellian E. Gardner and Joe-Barry Gardner.
Arthur lived his life as a de- vout Christian. He was dedicated to serving the Lord and joined Re- vealing Truth Ministries, where he remained a faithful member. He followed Proverbs 3:5-6, and always had faith that God would guide his path.
Arthur will be remembered for his unquestioning love of his family and his amazing culinary skills.
He is survived by his children, Kellian E. Gardner and Joe– Barry Gardner; two granddaugh- ters, Kasli-Jo Gardner and Simone Gardner; five siblings, Gwendolyn Oliver, Brenda Gard- ner, Twila Gardner, Curb Gard- ner, Andrew Gardner, and other relatives and friends.
The viewing for family and friends will be held at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N 29th Street, Tampa, Florida on Friday, No- vember 6 from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Due to the current CDC restric- tions, we are asking that you use the visitation as an opportunity to pay your final respect.

SISTER LAVERNE HARDEN
Sister Laverne M. Harden, 56, of Tampa, passed away on October 29, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday No- vember 7, 2020, at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Pastor Laura Ann Hargrove of Speak Life Church, Inc., offici- ating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Laverne was born in Tampa, Florida to Eugene Harden and the late Anna Harden on May 25, 1964. She graduated fom Jefferson High School and she worked in the Hospitality field for various companies in the Bay area.
Laverne was preceded in death by: her mother, Anna Harden and brother, Demarcus Harden.
Laverne is survived by: her husband, Eric Anderson, Sr.; children; Erica Anderson, Eric “EJ” Anderson, Jr., Quwanica Anderson, and Frederick “Boe- Boe” Powell; grandchildren, Shanori Brown, Jashe Lee, Clayton Lee, Jr., Clayden Lee, Claire Lee, Navy Rose Lee, Shannon Lise, Rolondre Simms Jr., Rocki Simms, Eric Ander- son, III, Eriel Anderson, Emir Anderson, Emari Anderson, Christian Carly, Carsyn Staten, Amiyah Powell, Frederick Pow- ell, Jr, and Amani Gambles; maternal siblings, Winifred Harden, Eugene Harden, Artese Harden, and Yolanda Freeman (Tony); pa- ternal siblings, Angie Harden, Daryl Harden, Chris Harden, Maurice Harden, and Porschea Harden; father, Eugene Harden and (close friend, Antoinette Williams); as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Laverne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a viewing on Friday, November 6, 2020, from 3-8 p. m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida. DEACONESS LUELLA G. MONTJOY
Funeral service for Dea- coness Luella G. Montjoy, of Wesley Chapel, who passed away peacefully, Tuesday Octo- ber 27, will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL, with Pastor Antonio Hawkins, Offici- ating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories-Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Montjoy was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. James F. Montjoy, Sr.; parents, Mr. Fred Douglas Gordon and Mrs. Dora Lee Gordon; broth- ers, Fred Douglas Gordon, Jr., Edward Gordon, Freddie Lee Gordon, Franchie Gordon, Purvis Gordon, Robert Gordon, Lawrence Gordon and Raymond Gordon; sisters, Ethel Gordon, Baby Gordon, and Verna Goodin.
Mrs. Montjoy is survived by: sons, James F. Montjoy, Jr., and Fred Charles Montjoy and wife, Anita W. Montjoy; grandson, Austin James Montjoy, (James F. Montjoy, Jr., his father); sis-
ters, Mary Francis Gordon, Lizzie Goodin and Quenda Goodin. Mrs. Montjoy is also survived by her dearly beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A native of Southeast, Mis- souri and Charleston, Missouri, Mrs. Montjoy came to Tampa in 1955 from Dalton, Missouri. She was a member and also served on the Deaconess Board at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, taught Sunday School and sang in church choirs for many years.
Mrs. Montjoy graduated from Lincoln High School, Lin- coln, MO, and a Black American- Only Business School in Jefferson City, MO. She was also a Secretary at Clara Frye Hospi- tal, Tampa’s first hospital for Black Americans. After the birth of her children, Mrs. Montjoy dedicated the rest of her life to being a homemaker and an ac- countant for her family’s draft- ing and design business.
Anyone wishing to pay their respects may visit with Mrs. Montjoy, on Friday, November 6th at Wilson Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Family and friends wishing to visit and or at- tend the funeral services are asked to comply with CDC Guidelines with respect to wear- ing PPE masks and social dis- tancing.

MS. RELENA YOUNG
It’s been 1,095 days since I lost you. I also lost me, I have been trying to find myself, but it’s hard because you were a huge part of our lives.
I hold the memories of the great times we had. I grieve for what I lost, but so grateful for what I had.
I couldn’t make you stay, your golden heart stopped beating, your hard working hands to rest. God broke my heart to prove to me He only takes the Best.
