Man Dies, Woman Injured In Double Shooting

The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a double shooting. It appears that the man shot the woman and later died of a self-in- flected gunshot wound.
According to police, offi- cers responded to a home at 5242 6th S., South in refer- ence to a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered that Ms. Jasima McKin- nie, 29, had been critically injured. She was transported to Bayfront Health, where she was listed in serious con-

As police investigated the
shooting, other officers were dispatched to the location of another shooting a short dis- tance away at Sunrise and 4th Street, South.
When they arrived, they discovered the body of 29- year-old Marty Zerrell Stone, Jr. Stone had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
The investigation into what led up to the shooting is continuing.

The Tampa Police Depart- ment is investigating two deaths as a murder-suicide. The incident took place Sun- day evening.
According to police, offi- cers responded to 307 W. Al- fred in reference to bodies discovered inside the resi- dence. Police learned that the two people, identified as 61- year-old Tamara Harris and James Firment, 56, both lived in the home.
Detectives said, based on their investigation, the cause of death appears to be a mur- der-suicide. Ms. Harris re- portedly caused the death of Firment and then took her own life. At this time, police did not have a clear motive for the deaths. The investigation is continuing.
Man Found In Alley Dies Of Gunshot Wounds

A 19-year-old man died after being shot in an alley. The shooting took place Sun- day evening.
According to police, offi- cers responded to an alley on 13th Avenue S, near MLK Jr., Street, around 2:45 p.m., Sun- day. When they arrived, they discovered a man had been se- riously injured. He was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He has been identified as Malik Oliver, of St. Peters- burg. Detectives are searching for a newer model, white Ford Fusion with a back fin and spoke rims. The vehicle was observed leaving the scene after the shooting.

Detectives are currently investigating a murder that took place early Sunday. It took place in the 600 block of South Willow Avenue.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were sent to the area after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots. When the officers arrived at 4:30 a.m., they dis- covered a man, who had been injured by gunfire.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Justin Vancleff Heilig, of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Detectives are continuing
to collect evidence from the scene and talk with neigh- bors.
Detectives are also asking members of the community to review their surveillance cam- eras for suspicious activity. Anyone who may have cap- tured images on their surveil- lance cameras are asked to contact the Tampa Police De- partment at (813) 231-6130.

Shortly before midnight Sunday, police responded to a report of a man being in the roadway. When officers ar- rived in the 2000 block of 17th Avenue, South they discov- ered that the 59-year-old man was dead.
Detectives learned that the unidentified man had been in an altercation with a woman at a social event nearby. During the fight, the man suffered an injury and died.
Detectives have identified the woman as Nancy Walker, 54, of St. Peters- burg. Ms. Walker was ar- rested on a separate charge of battery on a law enforcement

officer. She has not been charged in the death, al- though the investigation is continuing and other charges may be pending.
