Tom Brady Says Retirement 'Pretty Unlikely'
TOM BRADY
Tom Brady said he is "pretty unlikely" to retire after the New England Patriots’ sea- son ended with a 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Satur- day night.
Brady, who turns 43 in August, has spent all 20 sea- sons of his NFL career with the Patriots but will now become a free agent for the first time as his contract prohibits New England from placing their franchise tag on him.
Asked about retirement, Brady said: "I would say it's pretty unlikely. Hopefully un- likely."
Saints Fans Throw Towels On Field After Loss To Vikings
Kyle Rudolph’s (right) game-winning touchdown.
After Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph’s game-win- ning touchdown was con- firmed, Saints fans began throwing their playoff towels on the field in protest and anger.
Much of the anger came from the fact that the fans felt Rudolph had pushed off on the game-winning touchdown. While that may have been true, we’ve seen enough of pass in- terference review to know that was never getting overturned. At this point, though, many Saints fans think the league has it in for them, so they’re going to feel like they got robbed. After all, these are some of the same people who tried to sue the NFL over what went down last year.
Mahomes, Chiefs
To All-Pro Teams
Extension This Offseason
SHAQUIL BARRETT AND CHRIS GODWIN
The Kansis City Chiefs are expected to finalize a new contract with star QB Patrick Mahomes this off- season. The two sides have not done much work on an extension yet, but the team does expect a new deal to be in place in the coming months.
Kansas City wants to wait until after the first wave of free agency in March, at which point there will hope- fully be a new collective bar- gaining agreement in place. Before giving Mahomes an inevitably record-breaking contract, the Chiefs want to know exactly how that con- tract will fit into the league’s collective bargaining frame- work.
PATRICK MAHOMES
Given his youth and tal- ent, Mahomes may well land the league’s first $200M deal. The Falcons’ Matt Ryan is the current standard-bearer in terms of total contract value ($150M) and fully-guar- anteed money ($94.5M), and it seems likely that Ma- homes will easily eclipse both of those figures.
The Associated Press an- nounced its annual All-Pro team, which includes Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside line- backer Shaquil Barrett and wide receiver Chris Godwin, with both players being awarded second-team designations from the dele- gation of 50 voters.
Barrett earned his first career AP All-Pro selection after leading the NFL with a Buccaneers single-season franchise record 19.5 sacks. The 19.5 sacks are the most in a season by any undrafted player since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. Bar- rett finished his first season in Tampa Bay with 58 tackles
(19 for loss), 37 quarterback hits, 19.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, two passes defensed and one interception.
Godwin becomes the second Buccaneers wide re- ceiver to ever earn AP All-Pro honors after posting career highs across the board this season with 86 receptions for 1,333 yards (15.5 avg.) and nine receiving touchdowns.
He finished third in the NFL in receiving yards and tied for fourth in receiving touchdowns, while ranking second among receivers with 577 yards after catch and leading the NFL with 25 re- ceptions of 20-or-more yards.
Derrick Henry Rolls Up

Jason Garrett Refuses To Accept His Fate Even
A winter storm named Henry rolled through New England on Saturday. That's also what rolled through the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
The Tennessee Titans rode Derrick Henry to a 20-13 victory against the New England Patriots in the AFC wild-card round as the running back ran for 182 yards -- the most against a Bill Belichick-coached Pa- triots team in a playoff game.
Henry is the first player to rush for over 100 yards against New England in the postseason since the Seattle Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch gained 102 yards in Super Bowl XLIX after the 2014 season, and he joined Hall of Famer Marcus Allen as the only former Heisman Trophy winners to record multiple 150-yard rushing games in the post- season in NFL history.
The rain and cold weather set the scene for what would be a tough battle between two physical teams.

Though Cowboys Told Him He's 'Fired'
DERRICK HENRY
"That's the way we like it. ... We don't want it easy, we want it greedy, we want it dirty. That's the mentality we've got to have," Henry said. "My main focus is fin- ishing each and every drive on all three phases. Don't give up on each other, be- lieve, communicate while we out there, what we're seeing so we can make adjustments as a team. ... Keep striving and finishing the game."
Now the Titans have a date with the top-seeded Ravens in Baltimore in the divisional round next Satur- day.
The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly told Jason Gar- rett he’s out as the team’s head coach, but Garrett doesn’t plan on going qui- etly. Instead of accepting his fate, Garrett has insisted the Cowboys consider keep- ing him around.
It’s reached a point where things have started to get sad.
This is another bizarre turn in the soap opera that has become the Cowboys’ coaching search. Since the season ended, there have
JASON GARRETT
been multiple reports sug- gesting Garrett is out as the team’s head coach. Despite that, the Cowboys have not officially fired Garrett.
