Idris Elba To Executive Produce New Netflix 8-Episode Series
Paula Patton’s New Thriller ‘Traffik’ About Sex Trafficking In Theaters Friday
In one haunting moment from Liongate’s upcoming thriller “Traffik,” a young woman is drugged and loaded into a waiting truck by sex traffickers after having spent much of the night run- ning for her life.

with a microbudget,” was produced in part by its star Paula Patton’s Third Eye Productions.
“(Producing) is the only way to get the types of stories that I want to see made,” Patton recently said in Los Angeles.
Patton’s character, Brea, gets swept up in the world of trafficking while on a roman- tic getaway with her boyfriend, John, played by Omar Epps.
Netflix has given a straight-to-series, eight- episode order to Turn Up Charlie, a new series starring and executive produced by Idris Elba.
Elba will star in the titu- lar role as a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a manny to his famous best friend's problem-child daugh- ter.
Elba began his career as a DJ before branching into film and TV.

Kodak Black Sentenced To 1 Year In Prison
Kodak Black has report- edly been sentenced to 1-year in prison.
The Florida rapper report- edly accepted an open plea deal for violating his proba- tion on Apr. 17.
Since Feb. 2018, he has been facing two felony charges – one charge for pos- session of a firearm, ammu- nition, and another for possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana. Those charges were recently dropped.

gaged in criminal activity. He originally plead not guilty to all counts. Those charges were filed after Kodak – whose real name is Dieuson Octave – was arrested in Jan. 2018, after he shared an Instagram Live video of a child around handguns and weed. Previous charges of grand theft of a firearm, child neglect, and possession were also dropped earlier this year.
According to his lawyer Bradford Cohen, with time served, Kodak could be get- ting out as early as Sept. 17 of this year.

Gabrielle Union will de- velop broadcast, cable and digital projects in her new deal.
Gabrielle Union has just inked a first look deal with Sony Pictures TV, the studio behind the upcoming NBC drama series based on her character from the “Bad Boys” movie franchise.
Union is starring in and executive producing the se- ries, titled “LA’s Finest.”
