Bucks Frustrated At Jabari
WILLIE TAGGART
Willie Taggart has wasted no time embracing the culture and history at Florida State since taking the head coaching job for the Seminoles.
Taggart left Oregon after one season to take the FSU job following Jimbo Fisher’s de- parture to Texas A&M. He’s al- ready had legendary coach Bobby Bowden at a team practice, and now he turned Saturday’s spring game into a reunion.
There were over 300 former Seminoles players at the spring game.
The alumni in attendance seemed pleased to be invited back and welcomed. A photo shows that Deion Sanders was among those in atten- dance.
Celtics’ Marcus Smart Learned Last Week His Mother Has Cancer
MARCUS SMART
When Marcus Smart re- turns to the Boston Celtics from a thumb injury, he will do so at the urging of his mother, who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Smart, who is recovering from surgery to repair a torn ligament, found out last week about his mother’s bone mar- row cancer diagnosis. While speaking with family members, Smart said his mother wants to see him back on the court and that it would put a smile on her face to see him doing what he loves.
Smart has been sidelined since the Celtics’ game against the Bucks on March 11. He in- jured the thumb diving for a loose ball.
Erin Popovich, the wife of San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, died early Wednesday, the team announced. She was 67 and had been battling an illness for an extended period.
The couple had been mar- ried for four decades and had two children – Jill and Mickey – as well as two grandchildren.
Erin and Gregg Popovich were married while he worked as an assis- tant coach at the Air Force Academy from 1973 to 1979. Erin's father, Jim Conboy, was a former athletic trainer for the Falcons.
Cavaliers star LeBron James was informed of the news immediately after his

team's playoff victory in Cleve- land.
James became emotional, telling TNT, "I'm a huge Pop fan. I love Pop. Such a tragedy. My best wishes go out to Pop and his family. That's devastating news. The NBA family ... we all stick together, compete every night. But something like this puts every- thing in perspective."

Winston; Will Make $20.9M
Into A Reunion
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers should be convinced that Jameis Winston is still their future, so they’re going to pay him accordingly next year. For now.
The Buccaneers are pick- ing up the fifth-year option on quarterback Jameis Win- ston’s contract.
The option will pay Win-
ston $20.922 million in
2019, and is guaranteed for

Parker’s Immaturity,
Jealousy Toward Giannis
The Milwaukee Bucks have some soul-searching to do now that they are down 2- 0 to the Boston Celtics, and part of it may center around a core player.
Multiple coaches have said that the Bucks are frus- trated with forward Jabari Parker’s immaturity due to a perceived lack of touches. Schultz also adds that the team believes Parker has de- veloped an “unhealthy” amount of jealousy towards star teammate Giannis An- tetokounmpo.
The 23-year-old Parker, who just returned to the lineup in February after suf- fering the second right ACL tear of his NBA career, aver- aged 12.6 points on 10.7 shot attempts per game during the regular season (as opposed to 26.9 points on 18.7 shots per

game for Antetokoun- mpo). Parker was also the higher draft pick (No. 2 over- all as opposed to No. 15), but Antetokounmpo obviously has become the undisputed leader and face of the Bucks.
With Parker due for re- stricted free agency in the summer, this is obviously a bad time for any potential tension between the two star teammates to emerge again as it has in seasons past.
