Police Arrest 5 After Chase Of Stolen Car
Police Search For Driver Who Hit Bicyclist

Law enforcement is searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit a bicyclist and fled the scene. The inci- dent took place on South Forbes Road, shortly after 6 a.m., Monday.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified bicy- clist was transported to a local hospital in serious con-
dition.
Investigators believe the
vehicle involved in the acci- dent may be a Toyota Camry.
The vehicle is missing part of its front bumper.

Five individuals have been arrested and charged after being caught in a stolen car. The owner of the vehicle had been carjacked earlier that morning.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the unidentified victim was at the Ybor Coffee Shop, at ap- proximately 5:45 a.m., last Friday, the victim stopped for coffee. Two suspects ap- proached the victim, armed with handguns, while he was sitting in his car. The sus- pects struck the man in the head with a gun before flee- ing with his vehicle and money.
Later last Friday evening, police learned that the stolen vehicle was observed in the area of N. 46th Street

and E. 26th Avenue, around 8:15 p.m. The suspect fled the scene.
As the pursuit initiated, the driver lost control of the vehicle and spun out in the area of E. 28th Avenue and N. Garrison Street. Police activated Air Service and brought in canine units to search on the ground. All five were located and taken into custody shortly before 9 p.m.
Officers quickly caught Sharmari Hayes, 18, and 17-year-old Jack Miller after a brief foot chase.
Hayes was in possession of a stolen handgun at the time of his arrest. He was charged with grand theft of a firearm, carrying a con- cealed weapon, and being a

felon in possession of a firearm. He also had 11 ac- tive warrants that included burglary of an auto and grand theft.
Miller was charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana.
Police caught Louis Roman, 18, after a brief chase and charged him with felony marijuana posses- sion, possession with intent to deliver, and he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Police also arrested two juveniles and charged them with misdemeanor crimes. The investigation is contin- uing to determine what role, if any, the suspects taken into custody had in connec- tion to the carjacking.
Detectives Continue Search For Home Invasion Suspects
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for three men who broke into a home. There were five adults and three children in the house at the time of the offense last Tuesday.
According to police, the home invasion took place at approximately 5:41 a.m., last Tuesday.
The suspects reportedly took $1,500 in cash and property from the residence while holding the victims at gunpoint. Arturo Vazquez Hernandez re- sisted and was pistol whipped by one of the sus- pects. He was treated and released at a local hospital
for non-life threatening in- juries.
As the suspects left the home, they carjacked Bernardo Hilario Anastacia by smashing the window of the green, four-door, 2001 Ford Focus he was driving and pulled him from the vehicle. Anastacia, who was not injured, was picking up a friend in the morning and was not related to the indi- viduals in the home.
The suspects were de- scribed as follows: The first suspect is between the ages of 30-40, 5’10”, thin build and goatee. He was armed with a black handgun.

The only description of the third suspect is that he was a Black man.
The stolen vehicle is de- scribed as a 2001 green Ford Focus with peeling paint on the roof. The car has Tennessee license plate# 8G98X5.
