Above And Beyond Expectations, Standouts Excel

In this era, high school graduation is an accomplishment worthy of praise. Many students overcome all types of obstacles to reach that goal.
While hundreds of students will graduate in the coming days, a few have established themselves as edu- cational standouts. The following stu- dents have demonstrated that their abilities far exceed basic require- ments. They are as follows:
CHRISTOPHER GREENE Christopher Greene is the
Salutatorian at Blake High School. He plans to attend Johnson & Wales Uni- versity.
Graduating from high school is one of the highlights of an individual’s life. But, when something transpires to make it unique, then it is even more special.
FREDRICKA BATTLES
When the students at Spoto High School walk across the stage and ac- cept their diplomas, Fredricka Bat- tles will be among them. What makes this time more than special for the young lady is she turned 16 in Febru- ary and is graduating two years ahead of time.
Fredricka plans to attend Bethune-Cookman in the fall and pur- sue a career in Nursing or Accounting.
In order to accomplish this goal, the enterprising young lady enrolled
in online classes as well as attending classes at school.
When asked why she decided to graduate early, she not only applied herself to the task at hand, but she also made herself an example that it could be done.
Two young ladies who hold the top honors are representing Middleton High School.
TAYLOR DANSBY
Taylor Dansby plans to attend Florida A & M University and major in Bioengineering. The Valedictorian is a member of the National Honor Society, and Future Business Leaders of America.
ALYSSA SWANSON
Salutatorian Alyssa Swanson plans to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. She will begin her training at Hillsborough Community College. After completing HCC, she plans to transfer to the University of South Florida to continue her education.
Two young ladies hold the top honors at Wharton High School. Not only are they the Valedictorian and Salutatorian, respectively, they are making history at the school.
This is the first time Wharton has had African American females in the category of highest grade point aver- age.
International Baccalaureate Program, Alberta plans to become a Plastic Surgeon. She will continue her educa- tion at Duke University.
ANTHONIA ELENSI
Anthonia Elensi is the Valedic- torian, an AP Scholar with Honors, and AP Scholar with Distinction, and the recipient of the President’s Edu- cation Awards Program.
In the fall, she will attend the Uni- versity of Florida, where she will pur- sue a career in Health Science. Her goal is to become a Dermatologist.
SONILE PECK
Sonile Peck is the Salutatorian and she is also graduating with Hon- ors, a member of the President’s Ed- ucation Awards Program, and Outstanding Academic Excellence Certificate.
Sonile plans to attend the Univer- sity of Florida as well in the fall.
ALBERTA SIMMONS Alberta Simmons is a standout
who is graduating from Strawberry Crest High School. A member of the

Shanel Brown has the distinc- tion of being the Valedictorian at Tampa Bay Technical High School. All of her hard work has paid off as she prepares to attend Florida A & M University in the fall. She plans to major in Psychology.
Twin sisters Tamia and Taylor Patterson will enter a new phase of life after graduating from Bowers Whitley Career Center. The 18-year- olds plan to continue their education at Hillsborough Community College.
