MRS. GLADYS A. DAWKINS WASHINGTON
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Gladys A. Dawkins Washington, who departed this life on Wednes- day, May 16, 2018, to rest in God’s eternal hands, will be held on Mon- day,May21,at10a.m.atNewHope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St., Pastor Larry J. Mouton, Jr., with Reverend T. R. Coverson, eulogist.
Mrs. Gladys A. Dawkins Wash- ington, former First Lady of New Hope M. B. Church, was the third child born November 26, 1928 in Tampa, FL to the late Gertrude and Miller J. Dawkins, Sr. Her confes- sion to Christ started at an early age at St. John M. B. Church. She later married Rev. James G. Washington in holy matrimony in 1947.
In 1949, the New Hope M. B. Church was founded under the lead- ership of Reverend James G. Wash- ington. Mother was very active in the church serving as a minister’s wife in many capacities.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rev. James G. Wash- ington; parents, Mr. Miller James and Gertrude Dawkins; siblings, Commissioner Miller James Dawkins, Jr. and Dr. Wilbert L. Dawkins, Sr.; son, Adam Jerome Dawkins and nephew, Myron Jay Dawkins.
She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her family: daughter, Deborah L. Washington; son, Minister Reginald H. L. Washington, Sr. (Cynthia); grandson, Reginald H. L. Washing- ton, Jr. (Angela); great-granddaugh- ter, Re’Gine Shonyae Washington, (the love of Nana’s life); great-grand- son, Tyrell Williams; sister, Rosalie Jones (Moochie) and family; sisters- in-law, Nancy S. Dawkins and family and Tinye C. Dawkins and family; de- voted cousins, Patricia Floyd Sims (Earl) and family, Ruth Bryant and family, Wesley Floyd, Jr. and family, Butha Trimble and family, Leroy Mack and family, John Bowden and family; all descendants of the Ulmer family; god-daughters, Sharon Marie Niblack and Vanderlyn Hamilton Davis; special friends, Julia Wring and family, Mary Douglas (Lenton), Rosalee Douglas, Carrie Morgan, Ira Ellison (William), Irma Hudson; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

MRS. NAKISHA S. THORNTON- WILLIAMS
Mrs. Nakisha S. Thornton- Williams passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 19 at 10:30 a. m. at Springhill Mis- sionary Baptist Church, 8119 E. MLK, Jr. Blvd., Reverend Eugene Garnett, Pastor, with Reverend Dr. Marcia Turner, officiating, and Pastor Sandy Banks, eulogist. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mrs. Nakisha S. Thornton- Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of East Bay High School, Class of 2000. Nak- isha was a member of Transform- ing Lives Christian Center and was employed by Moffitt Cancer Center.
She is preceded in death by: her grandparents, Annie Mae Green and Albert Williams; aunt, Sylvia Fisher; and uncles, Robert Green, Henry Taylor and Donald Thornton, Sr.

MR. JEREMIAH HALLBACK
Mr. Jeremiah Hallback, 75, of Plant City, Florida, transitioned peacefully from this life on May 10, 2018, at home surrounded by his devoted and loving family.
He was born on January 8, 1943, in Plant City, Florida, and was the son of the late William and Bertha Hallback. He was the youngest of 8 siblings, 5 of which preceded him in death.
He graduated from Marshall High School in 1961, and began working at Agrico/IMC in which he had 43 years of dedicated employ- ment. He was well-known in his community.
Mr. Hallback leaves to mourn: a loving and devoted wife, Emma Hallback; son, Jeremiah Hallback, Jr.; daughter, Felisha Hallback Coney (husband, Reggie Coney); 2 step-daughters, Latonya Samuel and Katina Spates; grandchildren, Cortney Robinson (husband, T. J.) Brittany Coney, Jeranequa Hall- back, Jerry Hallback, III, Shavonta, Dynare, Jayden, Promise, and De- janique; 2 great-grandchildren, Jakari and Calyn; sisters, Emma Hagan and Sylvania Miller; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends.
On May 19, 2018, a Celebration Service will be held at 1 p. m. at St. James Primitive Baptist Church of Mulberry, FL, followed by burial at Garden of Peace in Plant City, FL.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2018, at Antioch M. B. Church, Bealsville, FL, 5-7 p. m.

Mattie Jordan Phillips was born in Arlington, Georgia on August 7, 1937. She was the seventh of nine children born to the late John and Daisy Jordan.
In the 1950’s she and her family moved to Tampa, Florida. She grad- uated from high school and later met her soon to be first husband, Frank Griffin, Jr. from this union she bore three children, Carolyn, Allen, Sr and Clint, Sr. After her first marriage was dissolved, Mattie married Samson Phillips, Jr. From this union she bore one child, Fa- tima.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day May 18, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the family present to re- ceive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.
Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approxi- mately 11:45 a.m. for the service.

Homegoing Service for Mr. Artha Theadore Thomas who passed away on May 5, 2018 will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida with Rev. W. D. Sims, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery with Mil- itary Honors conducted by the U. S. Army.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lil- lie Mae Chisholm Thomas and Van Thomas; sister, Doretha Thomas Jackson; brother, David Thomas, Sr.; great grandson, Richard New- ton, Jr; nephew, Michael Thomas and great grandfather, Marshall Thomas.

Mr. Artha Theadore Thomas was born in Tampa, Florida on Au- gust 20, 1943 to the parentage of Van Thomas and Lillie Mae Chisholm Thomas. He was edu- cated in the public schools of Hills- borough County. He later moved to New York in 1961. Mr. Thomas was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and he served honorably in the Vietnam War for 6 years.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day May 18th, 2018 at Wilson Fu- neral Home from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. with the family present in the chapel to receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Friends are asked to assemble at the chapel on Saturday for the service at approximately 1:45 p.m.
