  Rally Planned To Generate Support For Amendment 4
Future Miss B-CU Coronation Set For September 30, 2018
          A rally will be held on Sat- urday, September 29, 2018, 12 noon, to plan and strate- gize on ways to get support for Amendment 4 that will be on the November 6th Ballot.
The rally will be held at First Victory Cathedral Church, 1920 E. Sligh Ave., Tampa 33610. Bishop Michael Lewis is the pas- tor.
The Legacy Fellowship of Churches and Ministries held its conference in Tampa this summer. One of its events was a Political Forum to hear from several invited candi- dates. Among the items for discussion was Amendment 4.
On the sample ballot, Amendment 4 is listed as “Voting Restoration Amend- ment.” It reads, “This amendment restores the vot- ing rights of Floridians with felony convictions after they complete all terms of their sentence including parole or probation...”

dates, so that we can put to- gether some strategy these last few days before early vot- ing begins. We want people to know what this Amend- ment is saying and how im- portant it is to vote in favor of it to ensure that those who have paid their dues to soci- ety will be able to vote as other citizens,” Bishop Lewis said.

The coronation is in honor of the founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, who said, “I leave you a re- sponsibility to our young people....”

amount of funds is crowned “Future Miss B-CU.”
Three contestants will be presented to the community as participants for this gala affair.
Mrs. Raquel Watson- Hunter is the Coronation Chairperson. The public is invited and encouraged to at- tend free of charge.
Alumni meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at the Seminole Heights Library, 4711 N. Cen- tral Ave., Tampa, FL 33603 at 7:30 p. m.
   Paramedics Disciplined In Death Of Woman
 Four paramedics linked to the death of a young mother have been disci- plined. One paramedic has been terminated and three others suspended.
Early during the month of July, Ms. Nicole Black contacted the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue after her daughter became ill on July 4th. Paramedics responded to the scene, brought Ms. Crystle Galloway down- stairs and placed her in her mother’s vehicle.
They did not take any vital signs of the patient. Five days later, Ms. Galloway, who had just given birth by

Caesarian a few days before, died.
After an investigation into the incident, officials fired Lt. John “Mike” Morris. Acting Lt. Cortney Bar- ton, was suspended for 30 days without pay.
Fire Medics Justin Sweeney was demoted to Firefighter EMT and sus- pended for 30 days without pay, and Fire Medic Andrew J. Martin was suspended for 30 days without pay.
Officials said Ms. Gal- loway was taken to Brandon Hospital, who was ill equipped to treat a stroke victim. She was later airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where she died.
