Caregiver’s Workshop Offers Advice, Perspective For Those Providing Care
Sometimes it’s not just the patient who needs help. Pro- viding long-term care for someone can create its own stresses, and caregivers can easily become emotionally or physically overwhelmed.
A free health fair and re- source symposium on Satur- day, Oct. 13, provides information, perspective, and advice for caregivers.
The annual Caregiver’s Workshop will be held from 10 a.m.to2p.m.atthePhyllis Busansky Specialized Alzheimer’s Services Adult Day Care, 4102 W. Spruce St., Tampa. Those attending should RSVP by Oct. 5 by call-
ing Remona Singleton at (813) 644-5985 or emailing Single- tonR@HCFLGov.net. T h e event, presented by Hillsbor- ough County’s Aging Services, is aimed at those who take care of people with debilitating conditions such as dementia.
The symposium spotlights the reality that caring for a family member or loved one with serious physical or men- tal challenges can take an emotional, financial, and physical toll on the caregiver.
The workshop offers tips, outlines resources, and brings together experts and others facing similar situations in a relaxed, informative setting.
