Could Cam Newton Be The Savior For Bears’ Disappointing Season?
Bucs' Road Trip Continues Against Recharged Titans At 1 P.M.
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers will return to work on Monday after nearly a full week of rest and recovery on their bye. At the end of the week, they will hit the road once again – part of a five- game, six-week swing away from Tampa – to take on the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at 1 p.m. The Titans will be trying to build on the momentum of a down-to-the-wire home win over the Los Angeles Charg- ers, the team's first game since Ryan Tannehill took over at quarterback for Mar- cus Mariota.
Tannehill, the former Dol- phins first-rounder, com- pleted 23 of 29 passes for 312 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in his first start as a Titan. He may have helped get another former first-round pick back on track, as six of his comple-
tions went to Corey Davis for 80 yards and a touch- down. Tennessee didn’t aban- don its signature power running game, however, as Derrick Henry ran 22 times for 90 yards and a touchdown.
The Buccaneers will play their fourth straight game away from Raymond James Stadium, with one more road trip to Seattle waiting in Week Nine before the team fi- nally returns home on No- vember 10. The Bucs will be trying to snap a two-game losing streak, with the possi- bility of some players return- ing from injury after the bye week. It's possible right tackle Demar Dotson will be back in action against the Titans, and outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul – the team's 2018 leader with 12.5 sacks – could return from the reserve/NFI list.
Bucs DT Facing Suspension
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Terry Beckner, Jr. has been sus- pended for violating the league’s policy on perform- ance enhancing drugs, now facing a four-game absence.
Beckner, selected 215th overall by Tampa Bay in the seventh round of this year’s draft, totaled three tackles and one pass defended in four preseason games before land- ing on the Bucs’ practice squad prior to the start of the

regular season.
Beckner will be eligible
to rejoin the team on Novem- ber 18th.
CAM NEWTON
JERRY RICE AND LATISHA PELAYO
After over a decade to- gether, Jerry Rice and Latisha Pelayo are mar- ried!
The couple tied the knot at Calistoga Ranch in Napa Val- ley on Sunday, exchanging vows by the beautiful lake on- property, PEOPLE confirms.
Guests then enjoyed cock- tails in the vineyard, while a mariachi band played. During the reception, guests dined on the lawn by candlelight, with a jazz trio offering up sweet serenades. Finally, the cou-
ple’s friends and family moved into Calistoga Ranch’s wine cave to cut Rice and Pelayo’s four-tier wedding cake and eventually dance the night away.
The cave was decorated by custom scented candles made by Pelayo’s sister, who owns company Fiamma Candle. The happy day was produced and planned by Emily Coyne Events in conjunction with Alexis Raine Events, and cap- tured by photographer Julie Kay Kelly.
With each Mitchell Tru- bisky soaring overthrow, mis- read and three-and-out in Sunday’s dispiriting 36-25 loss to the New Orleans Saints, the question for the Chicago Bears grows.
How long can they stick with Trubisky, especially considering their champi- onship-contending defense?
Namely, as the Oct. 29 trade deadline approaches, would a franchise that has boldly in- vested in winning a Super Bowl right now blow up one of its signature moves and make another one ... this time for Cam Newton?
Maybe Trusbisky was extra rusty in his return from a Week 4 injury. Maybe. More likely this is who he is. Does Chicago still think this guy is a savior, the way it did in 2017 when it dealt three mid-round draft picks to move up one spot to pick him second over-
allT?he Bears passed on Chris- tian McCaffrey (eighth overall), Patrick Mahomes (10th) and Deshaun Wat- son (12th), each of them MVP candidates (or in Mahomes’ case, the reigning MVP as well).
What they got Sunday was a mess.
Patriots Tried To Trade For OJ Howard, Were Turned Down
The New England Patriots have struggled to get any pro- duction out of the tight end position ever since Rob Gronkowski retired, and with the NFL trade deadline looming, they appear to be hitting the phone lines.
Albert Breer of Sports Il- lustrated reported Monday that the Pats asked about trading for Tampa Bay Buc- caneers tight end OJ Howard but were told no.
Despite their blistering 7-0 start to the season, the tight end spot has been a hot mess for New England all year. Ryan Izzo leads the brigade with six total receptions, and fellow tight end Matt La- Cosse just landed on injured reserve, forcing the Patriots to bring back 38-year-old Benjamin Watson this week.
The 24-year-old Howard, meanwhile, is having a down

year with 13 catches for 176 yards and no touchdowns in six games. He could use a change in scenery, as he is in a timeshare with Cameron Brate and also has Pro Bowler Mike Evans as well as breakout receiver Chris Godwin to compete for tar- gets with. That said, at least Howard is making great catches elsewhere though
