Man Found In Alley Dies Of Gunshot Wound
Man Found Dead In His Driveway
DALE WASHINGTON
Police responded to the home of Jesse De Cairo, Jr., 1788 Suffolk Drive, early Friday after receiving a report of gunshots. When deputies arrived, they learned an unidentified citizen had found De Cairo, 22, at the end of the driveway.
De Cairo was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
During the investigation, detectives identified 22-year- old Dale Eugene Washing- ton as the suspect in the murder. He was located in Or- lando and booked into the Or- ange County Jail on Sunday. He was charged with second- degree murder, police said.
Inmate Found Dead In Cell
    The St. Petersburg Police Department is currently in- vestigating a murder. It took place Saturday in the 700 block of 22nd Avenue, South.
According to police, shortly before 2 p.m., a woman heard popping noises and went to investigate. She found her husband, Jerome M. Washington, 32, in the alleyway in the back of their home. He was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Washington was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Detectives are investigat- ing the death of a Pinellas County inmate. He died about 7:55 a.m., Sunday.
According to police, early Sunday, Stephen Gregory James, 29, was found inside his assigned housing area. He was not responsive at the time. The medical staff per- formed CPR, and called para- medics.
James was pronounced dead at the scene. The inves- tigation into the death is con- tinuing. The Medical Examiner will determine the

cause of death. However, of- ficials do not suspect foul play.
   Gunman Punches Mom Holding Baby
Suspect Charged With Double Murder
  According to police, the victim was alone with her tod- dler at Kiwanis Park, 301 Av- enue C, NE, in Winter Haven last Thursday. The robbery took place around 10 a.m.
The woman told police she saw two Black males wearing hoodies approaching her from different directions. She felt uneasy, picked up her child and started towards her vehi- cle.
As she approached the car, both men walked behind and one said, “Give me your money or I’ll shoot.” The woman told police that she felt something in the middle of her back and the man wearing gym shorts punched her in the right side of the face. She fell to the ground, still holding her child. The child was not in- jured, police said.
While she was still on the ground, the man who had punched her grabbed her purse from around her neck and both men ran away. She ran to a business and called police.
During the investigation, police obtained information that two men wearing clothing that matched the description given by the victim were seen

getting into an older model gold pickup truck.
Within 45 minutes after the robbery, the victim’s bank card was used at a CVS Store in Auburndale. A short time later, the card was used at an Ace Wireless, where two cell phones were purchased.
As a result of their investi- gation, police arrested nine- teen-year-old Marques Jarvelle Haines, of Winter Haven. He was identified as the man who punched the vic- tim and took her purse.
He was also observed on surveillance video using the victim’s bank card. The inves- tigation continues as police at- tempt to identify the second man involved in the crime, po- lice said.
Teenager
A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with a double murder in Brooksville. He is being held without bond in the Her- nando County Jail.
According to police,
Khristian Donyell Fran- cis has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Ms. Brene Marshall, who would have turned 17 on Fri- day, and her mother, Ms. Taneta Morrell, 40.
Francis was also charged with attempted first- degree murder of Adolphus Washington, 36, who was transported to a local hospi-

tal with life-threatening in- juries.
All three victims were shot inside the Brooksville residence.

Boyfriend
  Police Investigate Shooting At Apartment Complex
Police arrested a 17-year- old girl after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend. The in- cident took place Sunday.
According to police, Dar- ius Matthews, 18, and his girlfriend, Diamond Stukes, reportedly had an ar- gument. At some point during the confrontation, Ms. Stukes allegedly stabbed him.
Matthews was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.
Ms. Stukes was arrested and charged with aggravate battery, police said.
 Hernando County deputies responded to a shooting in a Spring Hill apartment com- plex.
When deputies arrived, at 4212 Jason Road, they learned that one man had been shot.
The victim was identified as Bre’on Wyatt, 20, who had already been transported to a local hospital by a friend.
Police said Wyatt was later transported to an area trauma center for further treatment.
Wyatt reportedly told po- lice that unidentified suspects had broken into his apartment, but he didn’t know what they wanted. They fled the scene after the shooting.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
