Funeral services for Mr. Clayton Carthell Young, age 63, who died on January 20, 2018, will be held on Satur- day, Feb 3rd at 11 O’Clock A. M. at Alexander Funeral Home, 620 Ave. “T” N. E., Winter Haven, FL, 33881.
Visitation will be 5 p. m.-7 p. m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at the funeral home.

Longtime Chicago Bulls Chaplain Dies at 82
WHEATON, IL —- Rev- erend Henry Soles, Jr., passed on January 18, at the age of 82.
He was born on August 17, 1935, in Anniston, AL, and grew up in Plainfield, NJ. He attended Plainfield High School, Manhattan Bible Insti- tute, and Rutgers University.
A change agent who took ministry beyond the church walls, Rev. Soles served as the senior chaplain for the Chicago Bulls for over 30 years. He got his start in sports ministry with the Chicago Bears in the early 1970s, and later worked with the Chicago White Sox.
Police Identify Man Killed In House Fire

ist, he soon became an award- winning editor and several of his projects, The Soul Food New Testament and the Children of Color Bible, were published by Tyndale House.
A resident of Wheaton, IL, and respected community leader, Rev. Soles was in- volved with numerous com- munity boards and organizations. He also re- ceived countless honors and recognitions for his civic work.
Rev. Soles is survived by his wife, Effie, one brother, and other family members and friends.

         Last Wednesday, a Tampa man’s body was found inside a Seffner residence after a fire. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Je- remy Welshans.
Officials said Welshans was temporarily living at the residence.
Firemen responded to
10916 Lee Street, in Seffner, in reference to a fire shortly after 11 a.m. Once the fire was extinguished, the body of the adult man was found in the home.
Detectives said foul play is not suspected in the death. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
   Man Charged With Shooting Following Argument
   A 45-year-old man was ar- rested and charged in connec- tion with a shooting. The incident took place in Bartow last Friday.
According to police, offi- cers responded to Bartow Re- gional Medical Center in reference to a gunshot injury. The victim, identified as Christopher Henson, 45, of Bartow, had been shot in the hand.
He told police that he had been involved in an alterca- tion with a man he didn’t know in the area of 1070 Mar- tin Luther King Blvd. After the two men exchanged words, the stranger pulled a gun and fired a shot into the ground near Henson. Hen- son told police that he ran, but fell to the ground. At that time, the stranger reportedly chased him and started hit- ting him about the face and head.
As he attacked Henson, the gun reportedly discharged

and Henson was struck in the right hand. The stranger then walked about and Hen- son fled to his residence. He was transported to a local hospital by family members, police said.
The investigation led po- lice to Clifton Williams, Jr., who was arrested and charged with aggravated bat- tery with a firearm, discharg- ing a firearm in public, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and carrying a concealed firearm.
