The 2017 NBA Finals will have a familiar look as the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers face off for the third straight post- season.
The Warriors won the NBA Finals in 2015, while the Cavaliers won it in 2016 after being down three games to one in the best-of- seven. Now the NBA world gets the pleasure of Cavs vs. Warriors III to break the tie once and for all ... well, until Cavs vs. Warriors IV in 2018.
CAVS WIN EAST
This year's Warriors squad has something those other Finals teams didn't: Kevin Durant. The super- star forward joined Golden State last offseason. He told reporters he made the "100 percent correct" decision to
leave the Thunder and form a super team with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
The 2017 NBA Finals begin Thursday, June 1, in Oakland, Calif., home of the
Warriors. The 2017 NBA Fi- nals could end as early as Friday, June 9, if the best-of- seven series lasts just four games, or as late as Sunday, June 18, if the series goes a full seven games.
Here is the schedule for the 2017 NBA Finals

season scoring list, set the record in his 212th postsea- son game. Entering Thurs- day's game, James had a career playoff scoring average of 28.2 points per game. Jor- dan played 179 career playoff games, averaging 33.4 ppg.
The Cavs star obviously isn't done rewriting the NBA
record book. A couple of min- utes after his historic 3- pointer, he knocked down his 319th career playoff 3- pointer, passing Manu Gi- nobili for third on the all-time list. That put him only one behind Reggie Miller, who is second on the list.
The Cleveland Cavaliers knocked the Boston Celtics out of the playoffs, but Le- Bron James knows there is still a very difficult road ahead.
After winning Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals 135-103 on Thursday night, James was interviewed by TNT and said his team would enjoy the victory for a few days before turning their at- tention to the Golden State Warriors.
During the interview, James referred to the War- riors as a “juggernaut,” which is a fair description.

year, and this will be the rub- ber match. One big difference though is that the Dubs now have Kevin Durant on their side, which probably led to their owner popping off be- fore the Finals.
LEBRON JAMES
LeBron James told re- porters before Thursday's Game 5 that it was a "per- sonal goal" of his to become the all-time NBA playoff scoring leader.
Goal accomplished.
James, who came into the game against the Celtics only 28 points shy of Michael Jordan's career postseason mark of 5,987 points, passed Jordan with a 27-foot 3-pointer with 2:40 remaining in the third quar- ter.
James calmly turned, flashed the No. 1 over his head, and headed down the floor, as the Cleveland bench applauded. He had 35 points through three quarters, in- cluding two on a vicious slam a couple of minutes before he broke the record.
