Trump Scrapped Reforms To Social Security And Medicare Before Releasing Budget
President Trump
scrapped potential reforms to Social Security and Medicare while preparing his first budget request, according to Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mul- vaney.
Mulvaney, a fiscal hawk and former member of the House Freedom Caucus, said Trump quashed potential changes to Social Security, citing his campaign pledge not to touch the program.
Trump released his first budget proposal on March 16. The plan includes steep cuts to domestic programs and an increase in defense spending, but doesn't touch Social Secu- rity or Medicare.

what he’d consider a cut. House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), who campaigned for Trump, told The Hill in February that he thought Trump would be open to making changes that would affect future beneficiaries, not
current ones.
Travel Dollars$$ For Pres. Trump In 1 Year: On Pace To Be More Than Entire 8 Years For Pres. Obama
Donald Trump's travel to his private club in Florida has cost over an estimated $20 million in his first 80 days as president, putting the presi- dent on pace in his first year of office to surpass former President Barack Obama's spending on travel for his entire 8 years.
If Trump thought it looked bad when the Palm Beach County Commissioner proposed turning his Mar-a- Lago resort into a special tax- ing district, he hasn’t seen anything yet.

Republican Congress: A House Divided Against Itself, WILL FALL
Three months into the new Congress, some Republi- cans are fearful that their fail- ure to repeal ObamaCare could spell doom for the rest of President Trump’s leg- islative agenda.
Some Capitol Hill Republi- cans have envisioned the nightmare scenario for 2017, and it goes like this: No Oba- maCare repeal. No tax re- form. No trillion-dollar infrastructure package. No border wall.
It’s a striking change from the period after Election Day, when GOP leaders vowed that the new unified Republi- can government would “go big, go bold” and deliver for the American people.
While many Republicans

hold out hope the Oba- maCare repeal bill will be re- vived, skeptics say the GOP infighting during last month’s healthcare collapse may have poisoned the well for future big-ticket legisla- tive deals.
Despite some signs of life,
healthcare talks between the White House and centrist and conservative holdouts did not result in a deal before Congress began a two-week April recess.
And the recriminations among Republicans only seem to be getting nastier.
Bill O’Reilly Taking Vacation Amid Scandal And Advertisers Boycott
Amid a sexual harassment scandal and advertiser boy- cott, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly announced Tuesday that he will take a nearly two- week vacation.
The vacation is a family trip that was planned in October, including airline and hotel reservations, O'Reilly spokesperson Mark Fabi- ani said.
O'Reilly usually takes time off around Easter, though his corresponding va- cations in 2016 and 2015 did not last as long as this one will.
Both Fox News and Fabi- ani said that O'Reilly will return to the program on April 24, and will be replaced by rotating substitute hosts during his absence. There is

American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) affiliates across the country are suing the Trump administration, saying U.S. officials failed to turn over requested docu- ments on the implementation of the president's travel ban.
