Judge Barbara Twine Thomas Is Guest Speaker For WMU-Cooley Law School Spring Graduation
On Saturday, April 15, WMU-Cooley Law School’s Tampa Bay campus will host its spring commencement ceremony at the University of South Florida’s School of Music, 3755 USF Holly Drive Tampa (33620).
During the ceremony,
Judge Barbara Twine Thomas of Hillsborough County’s 13th Judicial Circuit Juvenile Division will provide the keynote address. Chosen by his classmates, Ri- cardeau Lucceus will pres- ent the valedictory remarks.
Before joining the bench, Judge Twine Thomas was an attorney in private practice and has served as past presi- dent for the Hillsborough As- sociation for Women
South Florida and her J. D. degree from the University of Florida.
Each class at WMU-Coo- ley bears the name of a distin-
guished member of the legal profession. The spring 2017 graduating class is named after Justice Earl Warren. Warren was an American ju-
rist and politician, who served as the 30th governor of Cali- fornia and later the 14th Chief Justice of the United States.

Florida Highway Patrol Launches DUI Initiative
The Division of the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has an- nounced plans to focus on driving under the influence.
The purpose of the Initiative is to promote safety for motorists and pedestrians using public highways and rights-of-ways. The Ini- tiative is being launched will begin at 11 p. m., Thursday, April 13th and continue until 4 a.m., Friday, April 14th.
Members of Troop K will hold a multi-county DUI Wolfpack Op- eration. The Wolfpack Operation will take place in Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough and Polk Counties.
The Wolfpack Operation will focus on State Road 589 (Suncoast Parkway and Veterans Expressway), State Road 568 Veterans Ex- pressway, and State Road 570 (Polk Parkway).
Everyone is reminded to not Drink & Drive and plan in advance for events where alcoholic beverages are consumed by utilizing des- ignated drivers, taxi services or hold events where driving is not nec- essary.
Should motorists encounter impaired drivers they are urged to contact the FHP by calling *FHP (*347).
