Amar'e Stoudemire To Play
Antonio Brown To Steelers: 'If A Guy Overperforms, You Take Care Of Him'
ANTONIO BROWN
Wide receiver Antonio Brown said he never planned to hold out but made it clear Sunday the Pittsburgh Steelers should give him a new contract.
Brown is due $6.25 mil- lion in the fifth year of a six- year, $43 million contract. He has caught an NFL-record 264 passes in the past two seasons.
"You have to take care of your guys," Brown said after Sunday's practice. "If a guy un- derperforms, you get rid of him. If a guy overperforms, you take care of him."
Brown, who said agent Drew Rosenhaus is expected to meet with the Steelers, was responding to a question about whether he should be the ex- ception to the Steelers' long- standing policy not to renegotiate contracts for non- quarterbacks unless a player has one year left on his con- tract.
DeAndre Hopkins Ends Holdout, Disappointed With Texans' Contract Stance
DEANDRE HOPKINS
Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins said in a statement to ESPN he is returning to join the Houston Texans, despite his disappointment in the team's unwillingness to negoti- ate a contract extension for him.
"I too am disappointed that the Texans organization has elected not to enter into con- tract negotiation to secure my future as a Texan," the state- ment read. "I have expressed my sincere position regarding my contract status and with sound mind have expressed my stands (sic) to the Texans or- ganization.
The team moved Hopkins from the Reserve/Did Not Re- port list back to the active ros- ter on Sunday.
"My focus also is on the 2016 season and to help my team reach our ultimate goal," Hopkins' statement read.
The statement continued: "Having said that I am return- ing to the Houston Texans to play for a Super Bowl in Hous- ton, Texas. ... We are excited about returning to the team and grind this camp."
Michael Jordan Still Shows No Mercy On A Basketball Court

Michael Jordan was never one to back down from a challenge on a basketball court, regardless of the oppo- nent.
At his Flight School camp this week, Los Angeles Clip- pers guard Chris Paul tested Jordan's competitive nature when he created a simple game for Jordan with a very big reward. The rules were simple: If His Airness missed three shots, the entire camp would get free shoes (pre- sumably Air Jordans).
MJ couldn't help himself.
Jordan then turned the tables on Paul. His rules: If CP3 made all of his shots, the camp would get shoes.
MICHAEL JORDAN
Former New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher also had an opportunity to send the campers home happy. He just had to do the same as Paul: hit all of his shots.
Even now that he is well into his retirement, it's hard to beat Michael Jordan on a basketball court.
Cavs Waive Veteran
Dahntay Jones
The
Cleveland Cavaliers waived Dahntay Jones, the veteran reserve swingman who gave the team a spark in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
The team announced the move Saturday.
The Cavs waived Jones because his $1.6 million salary would have become guaranteed Monday for the entire 2016-17 season, but sources told ESPN's Marc Stein that the possibility of a return exists if Jones clears waivers.
Jones, who was signed on the final day of the regular season, came off the bench in Game 6 and scored five straight points to slow a Golden State Warriors rally.

He also drew a pair of fouls on Warriors forward Dray- mond Green.
The Cavs brought in the 35-year-old Jones to give them depth and another perimeter defender. He had plenty of postseason experi- ence before joining Cleve- land, and he wound up making a significant, if small, contribution.
Team He Partially Owns
Dwyane Wade: ‘It’s Jimmy Butler’s Team’
Amar'e Stoudemire
called a Monday news con- ference, where he's expected to announce that he's playing next season in Israel for the team he partially owns, ac- cording to international bas- ketball sources.
Sources told reporters that basketball officials in Is- rael say Stoudemire's move to join Hapoel Jerusalem as an active player is now a mere formality.
A report earlier Sunday from international basketball reporter David Pick says the deal is done for Stoudemire to play for Hapoel Jerusalem in 2016-17 after he announced his NBA retirement last week.
Stoudemire is sched- uled to travel to Israel next week as part of an NBA Cares initiative organized by the first Israeli to ever play in the
AMAR'E STOUDEMIRE NBA -- Sacramento's Omri
Casspi -- and has taken a great interest in the country over the past few years since revealing that he has Jewish roots on his mother's side. He has held an ownership stake in Hapoel Jerusalem since the summer of 2013 after Israeli tech magnate Ori Allon became the club's majority owner.
Dwyane Wade is back in sweet home, Chicago.
Wade met with the media for the first time and talked about the pairing of himself and Rajon Rondo with the Bulls’ existing star in Jimmy Butler — Wade used the term “three alphas” more than once. But he also was clear about whose team this was going to be on the court.
“We’re not going to go through this all year. It’s Jimmy Butler’s team. My- self and Rondo are here to bring what we bring as ath- letes.”
Wade added that he would not be a Bull if Jimmy Butler had not personally called him and asked him to

come.
Wade took that cue from
Shaquille O’Neal when he joined Wade’s Heat team — which eventually led to the Heat’s first title in 2006. The Bulls would love for that kind of result here, although it’s much tougher to see this Chicago roster having any- where near that kind of im- pact.
