At the awards ceremony during the annual Associa- tion of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPOs) meeting held last week in Or- lando, one of LifeLink’s finest, Mrs. Ruth Duncan Bell, was honored as the re- cipient of the “Reg Green Award.” The 2017 recipient was recognized for her long- standing and superior com- mitment and work in raising the public and professional awareness of the critical need and life-saving benefits of organ donation. Ms. Debbie Gibbs, the 2014 Reg Green Award recipient, presented the award.
Mrs. Ruth Duncan Bell, Senior Vice President of Public Relations for Life- Link Foundation, Inc., was described by one of her team- mates as “fair, level-headed, people-savvy and willing to impart knowledge while also letting her staff come up with ideas, take reasonable chances and shine for their accomplishments. She makes it easy to want to make her look good.”
The Reg Green Award for Excellence in Communica- tions honors a public rela- tions or communications professional within the Organ Procurement Organi- zation (OPO) community for ongoing and dedicated serv- ice to the profession, whose contributions have hereto- fore gone unrecognized.
