$45,000 Grant Supports ‘Building A Healthier Sulphur Springs’ Initiative
The donation will in- crease affordable hous- ing opportunities and improve immediate quality-of-life for Sul- phur Springs residents.
Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB) received $45,000 in funding from the Bank of America Foundation to support its Building a Healthier Sulphur Springs program and revitalize Tampa's historic Sulphur Springs neighborhood. The official check presentation took place on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at one of the three new homes completed in Sulphur Springs at 8206 N. Mulberry Street, Tampa 33604.
The goal of Building a
Healthier Sulphur Springs is to mitigate substandard housing conditions and cre- ate housing stability that will improve individual and com- munity well-being. With Bank of America's donation, RTTB will leverage the cost of construction to keep new homes affordably priced for low-to-moderate income buyers. At the same time, it contributes to the efforts to increase safe and energy effi- cient housing for low-income residents, decrease or elimi- nating vacant, foreclosed properties, maintaining infill lots to avoid dumping, im- proving living conditions and repairing owner-occupied homes throughout Sulphur Springs.
