wo days from now is
the Super Bowl. But, unlike all of the previous 54 that have come before, this one is a little unique.
It stands out in that it will mark the first time in history that a home city's team will actually participate in the event. And that home team, of course, is going to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Under normal circum- stances this would be the column where I'd break down the match up and give my opinion on who has the best chances of winning. But, like I mentioned earlier, these aren't typical circum- stances.
The team that I have been rooting for since I was 8- years-old is about to play in only its second champi- onship. How can I not be even a little biased?
Even though my objective mind tells me that we're going up against a team that, at least on paper, we are not supposed to be able to beat, I have no choice but to ride with my mob. Boom or bust.
For the last 7 years I have picked 7 consecutive Super Bowl winners based on my analytical view and gut in- stincts. In this instance, though, I openly admit that I'm putting my perfect record in jeopardy by plac- ing my heart above my head.
I don't care if the Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, is con- sidered the best thing since toasted bread, or that he has a receiver in Tyreek Hill, who lit us up for over 200 yards receiving in the first quarter the last time these two teams met, I like my squad's chances. This is mainly because of a few in- tangibles that I don't believe a lot of people, who are pick- ing the Chiefs, are consider- ing.
The main thing I think the sharps in Vegas and most observers are discounting is how much of a motivating factor chasing history will be for Tampa Bay. No team has come close to accomplishing what the Bucs are setting out to achieve by winning a Super Bowl in their own sta- dium.
Anyone who believes that this won't have an inspiring impact on the play of each and every man on this team's roster is fooling themselves. For most of the players in the Buc's locker room this has been their number one goal all season. I just don't see them getting this close and allowing a once-in-a-lifetime opportu- nity to cement their legacy slip through their fingers.
On top of that you have several veterans on the team
including Antonio Brown, Leonard Fournette, Ndamukong Suh and Mike Evans who are des- perate for a ring and who know that this may be their only chance to get one. I can't imagine any of these men not laying it all on the line while pushing their teammates around them to do so as well.
Last, but not least, there's the Tom Brady factor. Say what you want about him, this man brings something to the table that's unexplain- able.
There is a reason why they call him the G.O.A.T. No one else consistently makes special things happen on the largest of stages.
And, after hearing all of the noise about the demise of his career, I'm sure he wouldn't like anything more than to prove to everyone that he wasn't as washed up as the New England Patriots thought when they allowed him to leave the building. To make his point against a young phenomenon like Mahomes would make winning his 7th ring that much sweeter.
All of these x-factors, along with the fact that I re- ally love underdogs who can scratch, have me all over the Bucs in an upset. I know it's not the most popular pick outside of the Tampa Bay area, but it's the way I'm going.
I just hope that I'm right at least one more time for my pockets sake. Fire the cannons.

Common Sense Has Gone AWOL
Has anyone seen or heard from common sense since November 3, 2020? What if everyone who commit- ted a crime had charges dropped because they changed jobs, address, or were no longer employed in the job they had at the time they committed the crime.
The same trend of thought would be appropriate to the thoughts of some Republican Congress members about not impeaching Donald Trump because he is no longer President. Such a thought process makes them continu- ous enablers of Trump’s behavior.
America cannot afford to have anyone call thousands of angry Americans to a meeting and then incite them to attack the nation’s Capital and Congress. Trump should not have been allowed to do this and get away with it. Where is common sense in this inaction?
Moreover, some Florida legislators want to change Highway 27’s name to Trump Highway. Can you believe they want to name a highway after someone who nearly overthrew the United States government; who refused to pay people who did work for him; who was a serial cheater on his wife; who defended Russia to the U. S., government FBI and CIA officials; who was a bully; who is a serial liar, who conspired to force Georgia to commit voter fraud; who attempted to interfere with citizens who chose to vote by mail; who is being investigated for income tax evasion by cheating on his financial worth status to banks and IRS, to name a few of unethical and criminal behaviors Trump engaged in.
Today, every Congress member is a sitting target for anyone who didn’t like the outcome of the election. Sup- pose the same thing happens to this nations’ city council, county commissioners and governors who are elected at the local level. No one should be able to incite such behav- ior and go unpunished.
Congressional members who vote to allow Trump to go unpunished should be expelled or voted out of office. Mil- lions of Americans have been witnesses to Trump’s lies and treasonous actions. Republicans and Democrats were present for the counting of votes in every Supervisor of Elections office throughout the nation.
Not one Republican or Democrat on local levels ac- cused anyone of behavior that could be interpreted as fraud or tampering with ballots. The rule of common sense does not prevail among people who can’t think for
themselves.
