AIKENS
MR. KENNARD B. THOMPSON
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Kennard B. Thompson of Temple Terrace, Florida, who passed away on August 24, 2021, will be held on September 4th, 12:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave, Tampa, Florida 33610. Rev. Michael Neely, of- ficiating.
Kennard was born Decem- ber 31, 1954, to James Henry and Betty J. Thompson.
He loved sports, dancing, watching movies, and spending time with his grandson and fam- ily. He worked at Southern Pan Construction for many years until he retired.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and uncle, James Newton.

The family and friends are asked to meet at Rest Haven Me- morial Park for the service. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Martin Luther King Blvd. Tampa, Florida, on Friday, September 3rd from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

MR. LEWIS GLEN WILLIAMS
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Lewis Glen Williams of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Tuesday, August 24th, will be held on Friday, Septem- ber 3rd, at 11:00 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Mar- tin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pastor of St. John Progressive M. B. Church, officiating. The in- terment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Glen was born September 19, 1949, in Monticello, Florida. He passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Memorial Hospital.
He was one of twelve chil- dren born to the late David and Laura Williams.
Glen received his education in the public schools of Jeffer- son County, Florida. He retired from Hillsborough County Pub- lic School Board Transportation Services after 39 years of service as a bus driver in Area 3.
He was formerly employed at the Tampa Dog Track for many years. Glen loved working at Aikens Funeral Home and was a dedicated employee for 32 years.
Brother Glen was a faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church (MBC) and a dedicated member of Usher Board #1. He regularly attended prayer meetings and Bible Study
and assisted others in whatever manner needed. Watching football was an active hobby of his and above all he LOVED the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
His signature clothing style was long socks with 2 color stripes up to his knees and his little shorts. He was also known to have a dance or two on top of a table. Most people have a favorite home cooked meal that they prefer, but Glen always preferred McDonald’s; he would choose McDonald’s for breakfast, lunch, and din- ner.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, David, and Laura Williams; 3 brothers, James Bellamy, Clarence Williams, and Freddie Williams; 4 sisters, Dorothy Green, Nellie Akins, Louise Williams, and Mary Francis Montgomery.
In his passing he leaves: 1 daughter, Arneatra McMillan (Eddie), of Tampa, FL; 3 grand- children, Temika Lewis, James Williams, and Katrina Miller, all of Tampa, FL; 3 great grand- children, Calvin Whaley, Jr., Jeremiah Williams, Ermias Williams, all of Tampa, FL; fi- ancée, Gladys Cousin, of Tampa, FL; 1 brother, David Williams, Jr., (Loretta) of Tampa, FL; sisters, Doretha Williams, of Tampa, FL, and Mary Gunner and Josephine Parker, both of Rochester, NY.
He had a host of special peo- ple in his life including, but not limited to, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. We know he loved everybody and if anyone was left out, please charge it to our heads and not our hearts.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, September 2nd, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The fam- ily and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel on Friday at 10:45 a.m. for the service. We are following CDC guidelines.

Graveside Services for Ms. Marissa Lynn Townsend, of Sa- vannah, GA, who passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, will be held on Saturday Sep- tember 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 4615 E Hanna Ave, Tampa, FL, 33610, with Minister C. J. Gooden, offi- ciating.
Mrs. Townsend was a Tampa native and Hillsborough High School graduate.
Mrs. Townsend was pre- ceded in death by: her adoptive parents Robert C. Gooden, Sr., and Hazel Grant Gooden, grandfathers Andrew Gilford and Dr. Ernest Brown, Sr., uncle Robert Gooden, brother Hakim Howard and cousin, Tor- rey Bowers.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by: her loving husband, Wilbert Townsend and their beautiful children, Joshua Brewington, Jr., Jalaya Brewington, Jordyn Townsend, Raven Townsend, Janice Townsend, and Ashley Townsend; along with her de- voted parents, siblings, ex- tended family and friends; parents: birth mother, Jewel Gooden-Liburd, birth father, Anthony Gilford, and stepfa- ther, Patrick Liburd, Sr.; grand- mother, Annetta James Brown; brothers, Benjamin Gilford, Ephraim Gilford, Malachi Gooden Liburd and Patrick Liburd, Jr.; sister, Melissa Gooden-Davis; grandchildren, McKenzie Law and MaKhi
