MR. ALFRED LANG
Homegoing celebration for Mr. Alfred Lang, who passed away on September 7, 2016, will be held on Saturday, Sep- tember 17, 2016, 11 a. m. at Col- lege Hill Church of God In Christ, 6414 N. 30th Street, Tampa, Superintendent Charles Davis, Pastor and Pas- tor Billy E. Chatman, Jr., offi- ciating with Eulogist Pastor of Kingdom of Deliverance Wor- ship Center. The United States Air Force will conduct Military Honors at the church. Inter- ment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11 a. m.
Mr. Lang was preceded in death by: his parents, Irwin and Gertrude Lang; son, Alvis Lang; siblings, James Lang, Raymond Lang, Otis Williams and Israel Lang; grandchild, Megan Noel Lang.
Mr. Lang leaves to cherish memories of him with: sons, Alex and Alan Lang; grandchil- dren, Brandon Leon Egley, Ellen Aliyah Lang-Reheard, Eva Alida Lang-Reheard and Alonso Lee Lang-Reheard; sib- lings, Vernell Brooks-Talley (Will Talley), Barbara Kelly, Sharon Chatman (Billy Chat- man, Sr.) and Norma Jean Jones (Charlie Jones). He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately re- ferred to him as “Uncle Daddy” as well as countless friends.
Alfred Lang was born in Tampa, FL, on May 7, 1932. He was the son of Irwin and Gertrude Lang and the oldest of eight siblings. He was edu- cated in Hillsborough County Public Schools. He served in the Korean War (1950-53) as a radio and interceptor opera- tor. He received the Korean Service Medal, the United Na- tions Service Medal, the Na- tional Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
After the war, he graduated from Florida A&M University. After college, Mr. Lang pur- sued a successful career in higher education administra- tion. He managed financial af- fairs for a number of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Mi- nority Serving Institutions (MSIs) including: St. Augus- tine University, Claflin Univer- sity, Lincoln University (Missouri), Knoxville College, and Virginia Union Univer- sity. While working at Lincoln, Mr. Lang earned a Master of Business Administration de- gree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
In the late 1970s, he moved to the Washington, DC area where he managed the finan- cial affairs of a number of high-profile non-profit organi- zations including the United Service Organization (USO) World Headquarters, the Joint Center for Political Studies, and Free Trade Union Insti- tute.
Upon retirement, he re- turned to Tampa and worked with Hillsborough County Public Schools becoming deeply in- volved in efforts to improve the quality of public education. Mr. Lang had many avocations.
Building on skills learned during the Korean War, he be- came an avid ham (amateur) radio operator — a popular hobby and service that brings people, electronics and commu- nications together.
While living in Jefferson City, Missouri, Mr. Lang con- structed a radio tower in the backyard of his family’s home which allowed him to communi- cate with people all over the world.
In addition to ham radio, Mr. Lang had a passion for general aviation. He soloed in a Cessna 150 and logged many hours in the cockpit while living in Jeffer- son City. Mr. Lang also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. In his later years, he established home-based businesses focused on internet marketing opportu- nities.
He married Lucille Whitfield in 1957, divorced in 1978. Alfred and Lucille had three sons: Alvis, Alex, and Alan.
Mr. Lang was an active mem- ber of Kingdom of Deliverance Worship Center. There will be a visitation at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 5 – 8 p. m. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approxi- mately 10:45 a. m. for the serv- ice.

MR. ULYSSES MOSES
A celebration of life serv- ice for Mr. Ulysses Moses who passed away on Sunday, Sep- tember 4, 2016, will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, 12 noon at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida with Rev. W. D. Sims, officiating. The Army will provide Mili- tary Honors. Interment will be held on Monday, Septem- ber19,2016at11a.m.at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mr. Moses was preceded in death by: his mother, Addie Mae Douglas; father, Grover C. Cook; wife, Mary Moses; siblings, Nathaniel Douglas, Sr., David Douglas, Jr., Jackie Douglas and Robert Moses.
Mr. Moses leaves to cher- ish memories of him with: his children, Darlene Austin and husband, Rick, Julia Whaley (Herbert), Jonathan Fox, Isaia Moses, Jasha Moses, David Moses, Timothy Blue and Valerie Flowers; grand- children, Marquavius Moses, Jaelyn Saderia Moses, Janiya Sadie Moses, Terrane Savion Davis, Jayonna Moses, Jere- miah Shemar Moses and Maliyah Denise Moses; 14 ad- ditional grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother, George E. Douglas, Sr.; sis- ters, Claudia Washington and Rosa Lee Douglas; uncles, Lester Moses, Sr. and Festus Moses, Sr.; aunts, Betty Kelly and Margaret Boone: a host of nieces and nephews includ- ing, ErasieJean Philmore, Linda Roots, Anjanette Roach, Cherri Boykins, Mileana Ricks and a host of other relatives and friends.
A native of Waycross, Georgia, Mr. Moses was a Tampa resident for over 50 years. He was employed as an Animal Control Officer prior to his retirement. Mr. Moses served honorably in the United States Army.
There will be a viewing on Friday, September 16, 2016 from5–8p.m.withthefam- ily present to receive friends from6–7p.m.inthechapel. Friends are asked to assem- ble at the chapel on Saturday at approximately 11:45 a. m. for the service.

MR. WILLIE FRED POWE
Homegoing for Mr. Willie Fred Powe, who passed away on September 8, 2016, will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 2 p. m. at Wilson Fu- neral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, with Minister Willie Kimbrough, officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the U. S. Army.
Mr. Powe was preceded in death by: his parents, Sanford Powe, Sr. and Eula V. Powe; 1 sister; 3 brothers, Bennie, San- ford, Jr. and Jimmy Powe.
He leaves to mourn his pass- ing: a loving wife, Irene Powe, to whom he was married to for 50 and 1/2 years; 4 children, Dea- con Keith Powe (Wanda), Cheryl Powe, Edric Powe, and Kameko Powe; 16 grandchildren: Danelle, Tenecia, Jenaye, Deon- shae, Larneisha, Scott, Keith, Jr, Kierra, Jahbril, Rashard, Naiim, Mike, Daveon, Dominic, Shau- nay, and Zariah; 12 great grand- children, Tyleia, Tyee, Tychelle, Maleik, Daniyah, D’Arah, D’A- sia, D’Moni, Keondre, Ariyahna, Scott, Makhi; 3 brothers, Otis Powe (Ernestine), Ulysses Powe (Marcella), and Timothy Powe, all of Silas, Alabama; father-in- law, Hershel Ash of Tampa; brother-in-law, Gene Ash (Pauline) of Detroit, Michi- gan; devoted sister-in-law, Lorene Anderson (Eddie) of Tampa; sister-in-law, Shirley Dozier of Millry, Alabama, and a host of other sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Willie Fred Powe was born on March 2, 1946 to the parent- age of Sanford Powe, Sr. and Eula V. Powe in Silas, Alabama.
He was a 1964 high school graduate and attended college thereafter. Mr. Powe served in the U. S. Army from 1965 to 1967, where he earned the rank of SP 4. After an honorable dis- charge, he served in the Army Reserves.
Mr. Powe relocated to Tampa and was employed by Lewis Construction Company. He was a member of Souls Har- bor Church and attended faith- fully until his health began to fail.
There will be a viewing on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Wilson Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p. m. Friends are asked to as- semble at the chapel on Satur- day at approximately 1:45 p. m. for the service.
