City Of Tampa Black History Committee Awards Scholarships
The City of Tampa Black History Committee held its 18th Annual Scholarship Presentation Program last month at the Holiday Inn-Westshore. As of 2017, the com- mittee has assisted 109 students with scholarships, totaling more than $185,000. (Photographs by BRUNSON)
Students in attendance who received scholarships from the City of Tampa Black History Committee from left are: Makaita Wooley, Jennifer Skinner, MiKayka Williams, Zoya Whitehead, Keyshawn Spann, Armand Chalk, Jalen Chambers, M. Boderick, Jeffrey Ray, Briana Brooks, Dimitri Pun, and Zavier Clark.
Behind the students are: Maxon Victor, Master of Ceremonies, Bobby Bowden (Founder), Regina Locke-DePass (COTBHC Member), Dr. John LoBlack, Ed.D, keynote speaker, Fire Chief Tom Forward (Advisor), Cedric McCray (Scholarship Chair), Celeste Gibbons-Peoples, (President), Bettye Greene Johnson (Past President, COTBHC Member) and Debbie Mercer (Treasurer).
