RAY WILLIAMS
MR. BOBBY LEE ALFORD
Mr. Bobby Lee Alford of Tampa passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Sat- urday, February 3, at 2 p. m. at the Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Apostle Mark Jones, Pastor, with Pas- tor Rayford Harper, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Alford was a native of Tampa and a resident for 60 years. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Leto High School, Class of 1975. Mr. Alford was a United States Army Veteran and re- tired as a Distribution Techni- cian I from the City of Tampa Water after many years of ded- icated service. He was a mem- ber of Cathedral of Faith.
Bobby was preceded in death by: his father, Paul Al- ford, Sr.; and sister, Debra Ann Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving son, Bobby Alford; loving and caring mother, Flossie Morris; five sisters, Mary Alford, Yvonne Hamilton, Maydean Mann (Carl), Linda Dix, and Benetha Anderson (Larry); four broth- ers, Paul Alford, Jr. (Gladys) of GA, Robert Alford, Julius Dix, and Willie Williams; aunts, Maxine Morris, Loretha Mor- ris, Susie Mae Curry, Orlee Morris, all of GA; uncles, John- nie Lee Morris of Tampa, FL, Charlie Morris, Calloway Mor- ris, both of GA; stepmother, Arentha Alford; great nieces, Journii Long, Trinity Scott; stepsisters, Patricia Ray, Cyn- thia Norton, Jackie Williams, Tashone Alford, Michelle Joseph (Gilroy); stepbrothers, Cedric Ray, Ravis Williams; stepdaughter, Brittany Robin- son; godsons, Ricardo Maura, Jr., and A’terieno Maura; spe- cial friends, Ricardo Maura, Sr., and Darryl Winstead of NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other sorrowing rela- tives and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, February 2, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, and the family will receive friends from 7:30 p. m. to 8:30 p. m.

MR. LUTHER HILL, JR.
MR. OLIVER MAYO, JR.
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Oliver Mayo, Jr. of Tampa, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 3, at 2 p. m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, with Dr. S. Evan Burrows, officiating. Interment will be held Monday, February 5 at the Florida National Cemetery.
Mr. Mayo, 92 years old, was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, FL. He accepted the Lord early in life and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of College Hill for over 50 years. His favorite song was “The Lord Is Blessing Me.”
Mr. Mayo was educated in the Public Schools of Hillsborough County and attended Bethune- Cookman College. He was a Vet- eran of the United States Navy and traveled all over the world. Mr. Mayo received training as a Surgical Relief Aide and was em- ployed at Bay Pines Veteran Hos- pital, prior to the opening of the James A. Haley V. A. Hospital, where Mr. Mayo was one of the first African Americans hired. He spent a total of 35 years in the V. A. Hospital System and received many awards, certificates and commendations for his years of work at the V. A.
After retiring, he worked more than 10 years as a Greeter (with a smile) at the Ice Palace, newly named Amalie Arena. When the Hockey team won the championship, he also received a ring, champion jersey and a hockey stick. Mr. Mayo also was a Poll Watcher with the Supervisor of Elections Office for many years.
As a patriarch at the MacDill Officer’s Club, Mr. Mayo often took teen boys with him to work so that they could make extra spending money. Every day he would take a different set of boys. Mr. Mayo was a loyal member of the American Legion Post #167 - Bay City Elks Lodge #268, where he served as Commander and at the time of his death, Chaplain.
His passion was handing out food baskets for Thanksgiving and gifts for children at Christ- mas. Mr. Mayo had a daily rou- tine that included morning prayer, breakfast with his son-in- law, a little TV, listening to smooth Jazz, his meditation time
and sitting on the screened porch.
Mr. Mayo was preceded in death by: his parents, Oliver Mayo, Sr. and Sally Mayo; wife, Christine Mayo; two daughters, Theresa Mayo and Olivia Roane; and longtime companion, Dorothy Croy.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ories: a very devoted and loving daughter and son-in-law, Vir- ginia Anderson and John Ander- son, who were dedicated caregivers; son-in-law, Russell Roane; granddaughters, Sonya C. Dudley, Tamela Davis (Christo- pher), Alicia Roane, Kissha Fields; grandsons, Robert Dud- ley, Jr. and Terry Roane of Day- tona Beach, FL, Jermaine O. Davis, John Anderson, Jr. (Kim) of GA, Michael Anderson (Cyn- thia); numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchil- dren; sister-in-law, Bertie Ses- soms; like a son, Kenneth Anthony; two special cousins, Eloise Allen and Gloria Jean Ster- rex; special friend and compan- ion, Mary Johnson; special friends, Eunice Butts, Johnny Hi- Smith, Johnny Campbell, Brookins Family, Deacon Albert Bell, Reverend Michael Neely and Yolanda Anthony; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
The remains will repose from 6 to 8 p. m. Friday, February 2nd at First Baptist Church of College Hill.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the Church at 1:45 p.

MRS. MAMIE MURRAY
Mrs. Mamie Murray of Tampa entered into eternal rest quietly, Monday, January 22, 2018 at her home surrounded with praying hands. Funeral services will be conducted Sat- urday, February 3rd, at 2 p. m. at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, with Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Mamie Murray was a proud native of Georgia and later be- came a resident of Tampa, Florida for many years. Mrs. Murray attended the public school system where she quickly found her interest in the clothing industry. Sister Murray was a member of Mount Tabor M. B. Church for over 50 years.
Mamie Murray was a loving and devoted parent that took the time to listen and help solve a problem. She was generous and always willing to give. If she had a dollar you had a dol- lar, also. Sister Murray was a fun person with a quiet spirit, ready to dance to the music. She had a sense of humor that ended with a smile. Last but not least, Mamie Murray was an A+ cook. You had to eat the last drop! We love you and we miss you!
Sister Murray was preceded in death by: her husband, John Murray; son, James Murray; mother, Sarah Rivers; father, Griffin Redding; sisters, Annie V. Redding, Henrietta Redding, Lela Mae and Emridge Streeter; niece, Sharon Tolliver-Raiford; and nephew, Derrick Law.
Survivors left to cherish lov- ing and fond memories are: a loving and devoted daughter, Charlotte Murray; a caring son, John Murray, Jr. (Rose); sis- ters, Ethel Tolliver (Charlie) and Rose Powell; granddaugh- ter, Tequila James (Patrick); great-granddaughter, Alona James; nieces, Sarah Hodge, Terrika Law-Howard (Malio), June, Lucille and Victoria of Detroit; nephews, Charlie Tol- liver (Britinie), Leon Powell of Detroit, Carey Law (Mary), Kin- men Hodge, Maceo S. Mr. Luther Hill, Jr., was a native of Live Oak, Florida and a resident of Tampa for many years. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1970. He was employed as a laborer with Volts.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by: his father, Mr. Luther Hill, Sr.; stepfather, Johnny Guyton, Sr.; and sister, Vivian D. Guyton.
