Cuba Gooding, Jr. Headed To Trial In February, New York City Groping Case
Dr. Dre's Estranged Wife Served Him With Divorce Papers During His
Cuba Gooding, Jr's trial is scheduled to start in Feb. 2022 for his New York City groping case.
According to ABC News, Judge Curtis Farber set the trial date for Feb. 1, which involves the allegations that the 53-year-old violated three different women at three var- ious Manhattan nightclubs in 2018 and 2019.
“This case has been on my calendar for two years, going on three years,” Farber said at a hearing in state court in Manhattan.
The Oscar-winning actor is
woman inappropriately. He was arrested in June 2019 after a 29-year-old woman told police officers that Gooding groped her with- out her consent at Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge near Times Square. He was charged with the other inci- dents soon after.
Gooding's trial was origi- nally scheduled for April 2020 but was postponed after cases of the coronavirus surged in New York, eventu- ally shutting the state down. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all allegations
Grandmother's Funeral
Dr. Dre was served with divorce papers as he was lay- ing his grandmother to rest in a cemetery, TMZ re- ported.
The rapper was ap- proached by a process server working for ex-wife Nicole Young on Monday.
He was furious and re- fused to take the papers. They were left at the ceme- tery for him to get later.
The 56-year-old rapper/producer was at the cemetery Monday when a
lawyer representing his es- tranged ex-wife attempted to serve him with legal docu- ments.
Some claimed to TMZ that Dr. Dre was served at his grandmother's gravesite, while those close to his ex- wife, 51-year-old Nicole Young, told the outlet that he was served in the parking lot.
Dr. Dre and Young were married in 1996. The couple announced they were di- vorcing in June 2020.

Kanye West Officially Changes His Name To 'Ye,' With Judge's Approval
He’s not Kanye, he’s Ye.
A Los Angeles judge last week approved a petition by rapper Kanye West to officially change his name to be known simply as “Ye,” with no middle
or last name.

Judge Michelle Williams Court gave her nod to the re- quest by the singer, who filed his petition Aug. 24 and stated he was making the change for personal reasons.
The entertainer, 44, released an eighth studio album titled
YE
“Ye” in June 2018. It’s been his Twitter handle for some time.
That same year, the singer
said in an interview with radio host Big Boy that he believes “ye” is “the most commonly used word in the Bible, and said in the Bible it means ‘you.'”
Merriam Webster online agrees in terms of the mean- ing, but also goes on to say it is a plural form of “you,” not sin- gular, “now used especially in ecclesiastical or literary lan- guage.” The second definition is the word’s more familiar use as an archaic form of “the,” as in, “Ye olde abbey.”
