WellCare Health Plans, Inc.) and Universal American Corp.) announced Thursday that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Well- Care will purchase Universal American in an all cash trans- action.

The transaction was ap- proved by the board of direc- tors of WellCare and Universal American. The transaction is expected to be funded through available cash on hand and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2017.
Police Officer That Killed
BALTIMORE CITY, MD -- The Baltimore City teacher who was captured on video using the N-word as she yelled at black students in her class- room no longer has a job.
Baltimore city school offi- cials confirmed the incident happened last Wednesday at Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School in West Baltimore.
After putting a student out of her room and calling the rest of the class “idiots,” she warned that if they don’t straighten up, they’ll end up “broke ass nig**rs who are going to get shot!”
Video of the incident was captured by a student and has since gone viral with over a million views.
Philando Castile was fatally shot in July. His girlfriend videoed the incident.
ST. PAUL, MN – The police officer who reportedly shot and killed Philando Castile this summer was charged with second-degree manslaughter Wednesday (November 16), the Associated Press reports.
Castile was killed in July in Falcon Heights, Minnesota in an incident that his girlfriend broadcast on Facebook Live. Her daughter was in the back- seat of the car when the shoot- ing occurred.
Jeronimo Yanez was the officer identified as the one who fired the deadly shot after pulling over Castile for a traf- fic stop. If convicted, the po-
liceman faces up to 10 years in prison.
Yanez’ attorney is saying that his client stopped the 32- year-old man because he seemingly matched the de- scription of a wanted robbery suspect. He claims that Yanez, who is Latino, fired his gun out of fear because Castile claimed he had a legal gun with him in the car.
Castile’s family believes he was racially profiled and an- other victim of police brutality. His death came less than 48 hours after another Black man, Alton Sterling, was shot and killed by police offi- cers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Other high-profile cases have had mixed response from the legal system as nobody was charged in the death of Fred- die Gray, who died in Balti- more after being arrested and suffering a spinal cord injury while being transported in a police van.
Darren Wilson, the po- liceman who shot and killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, was not indicted for his actions.
The officer who shot and killed Walter Scott in South Carolina is on trial for murder.

Philando Castile Charged
With Manslaughter
Carl Conyers, the missing son of Mich. Rep. John Conyers, has been found safe and sound KHOU-TV reports.
The 21-year-old’s mother, Monica Conyers, confirmed that her son is alive and safe and back with her Friday morning, the report notes.
Monica Conyers said that she got a call from University of Houston police overnight. The details of how her son was found are still unclear to her, she said, adding that he needed a shower and hadn’t eaten.
Monica Conyers flew from Michigan to Houston, Texas on Thursday in order to help search for her son.
“This is not like him. If he was going to go somewhere and take a break, which he’s never ever done, he would call me. I’ve heard nothing from my son. Nothing period,” she said Thursday.
The 21-year-old Conyers was reported missing after being last seen on Tuesday. His roommates were worried because he left his car and wal- let and phone at the apartment when he vanished. His girl- friend also panicked after re- ceiving a tweet telling her to meet him at the University of Houston, where they both at- tend school, before never showing up.
BLEVINS, AR -- Some un- abashed, in your face racism is going down in Arkansas where the photo of a white Blevins School Board member, dressed in blackface, is spark- ing controversy across the town and social media.
That board member would be Ted Bonner, says Super- intendent Billy Lee. According to Lee said there is no law to recall the board member and Bonner.
But that’s not mollifying
some parents. One of them, Faye Smith, wants Bonner banished from the board.
“Number one, it’s appalling,” said Smith. “Number two, it’s inappropriate for a school board member to disrespect students that he’s over, who are Black.”
The history of the photo is that it was taken a couple of weeks ago at a Halloween party say People familiar with the picture.
