During the early morning hours of May 5th, a young Tampa woman died in a car ac- cident. Knowing her passion for helping autistic children, her family created a fundraiser that same day.
Ms. Aryelle M. Oxen- dine died after the vehicle she was driving on Waters Avenue near El Portal Drive when the accident took place. She died as a result of her injuries.
Funeral services for Ms. Oxendine were held on Mon- day at noon at the River Hills Church of God. Her family wanted to do something in honor of her memory.
At the time of her death, Ms. Oxendine was working at the Florida Autism Center of Excellence as a Teacher’s Aide. Her goal was to work with autistic children.
She was graduated from Howard W. Blake High School in 2013, and continued her ed- ucation at Valencia and Hills- borough Community Colleges. She was enrolled at St. Peters- burg Junior College, where she was pursuing a degree in Edu- cation with a concentration in Special Education.
A native of Tampa, Ms. Oxendine was the 21-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Melissa Oxen- dine. She is also survived by one brother.
Her father said she adored

her students and her passion for the Autistic population was obvious in her dedication. He said the gofundme account is to raise money for the Autistic population.
The information on the go- fundme page states, “Aryelle was a beautiful, smart, funny, caring, and loving young woman who’s life was taken too soon in a tragic car acci- dent. Aryelle was a Teacher’s Aide at Florida Autism Center of Excellence. Aryelle was cur- rently in school on her way to getting her degree to become a teacher of autistic children. We would like to continue this pas- sion of Aryelle’s to help autis- tic children by raising money to donate to F.A.C.E’s in her honor.”

Hillsborough County Offers Summer Food Program
Hillsborough County will once again participate in the Summer Food Service Pro- gram. The program provides free nutritious lunches and afternoon snacks to children at more than 50 sites throughout the county.
In an effort to make sure no child goes without a meal, this year’s program has been lengthened by eight days. It will begin on May 30 and end on Aug. 4.
The Summer Food Serv- ice Program will provide a balanced meal during sum- mer vacation when school meals are not available. The meals and snacks will be of- fered at local parks and other community locations to chil- dren under the age of 18.
The Summer Food Serv- ice program is funded by the U. S. Department of Agricul- ture and administered locally by Hillsborough County’s Aging Services. The depart- ment has expanded its “More than a Meal’’ concept to the summer program and, along with the food, will provide fun and interactive nutrition education to promote healthy eating and lifestyle choices.
Also new this year: More “grab and go’’ meals that are ready to eat, but also healthy.
Applications are not re- quired. Nearby approved sites can be found online, or for more information, email summerfoodpro- gram@HCFLGov.net or call (813) 276-8625.
