Two Shot Outside Club After Fight Ends With Gunfire
Teens Arrested After Leading Police On Chase
Two people were injured at a club after shots were fired during a fight. Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers re- sponded to Club 1828, 5110 N. 40th Street, in reference to a shooting. When officers ar- rived, they discovered that Ms. Samarra K. Durham, of Tampa, had suffered a gunshot to her leg.
They also discovered that Keith A. Myles, 27, whose birthday is listed as May 15th, was shot in the lower back and
buttocks. They were trans- ported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with non-life threatening in- juries. Both are expected to re- cover.
During the investigation, police learned that a fight had broken out in front of the club involving unidentified individ- uals.. At some point someone began shooting.
Police said both victims said they did not see who was firing the shots.
The investigation is contin- uing and police are asking any- one with information to come forward.
$5,000 Reward Offered For Information About Golf Course Murder
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in solving a murder. The body of the murder victim was dis- covered in an abandoned golf course in Lakeland last Wednesday.
The body of Preston Bur- nett, 30, of Lakeland, was found by a passer-by in the Skyview Golf Course, in Lake- land. Burnett’s body was found shortly after 5”30 p.m. Police said Burnett was “vio- lently murdered and left there.”
According to police, on May 9th, an Auburndale Police Cor- poral saw Burnett in down- town Auburndale and drove him to his ex-girlfriend’s house around 2:30 a.m., Tuesday.
The ex-girlfriend told Polk County Sheriff’s Office detec- tives that Burnett left her house immediately stating, “They might find me.”
Police said it was unclear what he was referring to at the time. However, his ex-girl- friend told police that Burnett had had a fight with two un- known African American males in downtown Auburndale.

The occupants in a car that had been reported stolen led police on an early morning chase. The car was eventually stopped and all three occu- pants were arrested.
According to the Tampa Police Department, an officer on routine patrol shortly be- fore 3:30 a.m., Monday, ob- served a 2014 Mazda that he considered to be suspicious, in the area of Bayshore Blvd., and

Gandy. When the officer checked the license plate, he learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The officer attempted to make a traffic stop after the car drove onto Davis Island, but the driver of the vehicle fled the scene leaving the island. As it left the island, officers used a spike strip to disable the front and rear tires.
The driver continued on Bayshore Blvd., to Meridian Avenue, and the officers finally stopped it with a P.I.T. maneu- ver on Cumberland Avenue.
Police identified the driver as 18-year-old Rodarius D. Godbolt. The passengers were identified as Tyreece Freeman, 17, and 18-year-old Billy G. Pinnick. All three were taken into custody with- out further incident.
Man Arrested After Accident Ends In Road Rage Hit & Run
The Florida Highway Pa- trol arrested a 26-year-old man Sunday morning at his home. He was charged with burglary of a conveyance, driving with suspended li- cense, and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to police, the incident took place Friday
morning on Interstate 4. Starowicz was driving a blue Jeep and traveling westbound on the entrance ramp from 21st Street east at the inter- change of I-275. He was driv- ing behind James Robinson, 34, who was driv- ing a white van.

merge into another lane and Starowicz passed him, moved in front of him, and suddenly stopped. Robinson was unable to stop and col- lided with the jeep, causing minor damage.
At that point, Starowicz walked up to Robinson’s ve- hicle, and using an undeter- mined object, shattered the driver’s window. He then al- legedly told Robinson that he should kill him right then. Starowicz then turned and walked away. He returned to his vehicle and drove away.
Robinson provided po- lice with a description of the suspect. On Sunday, at ap- proximately 8:45 a.m., he was arrested at his Apollo Beach home and transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
