JAY-Z And Rihanna's Foundations Donate $2M To COVID-19 Relief Efforts
     ARTIST OF THE WEEK
BY TALK TO ‘EM DA DON
Tampa’s very own, Pretty KoKain, is on a roll as she continues to release music. She recently dropped an EP called, “KoKa,” and has been doing great with num- bers. Shortly after, the Tampa born and raised next Superstar just released a new single called, “Doing Em Nasty.”
She has been working on music since she was in 5th grade and hasn’t stopped since. Her biggest influence was Lil Wayne growing up, and still listed him as her fa- vorite artist to this day.
Throughout all the cir- cumstances, her life has thrown at her, somehow, she still is able to manage being a single mom, an artist, and
also keep control over her personal life. She makes no excuses and continues to grind.
Her motivation and ambi- tion is what makes her unique. She mentions that someone is out there doing and going through some- thing more tough than she is and they are still making it work. She goes by that motto and she is working.
When asked what advice she has for upcoming rap- pers, she mentions, “Just keep grinding til the people you looked up to, looks up at you. Don’t expect a handout and develop thick skin be- cause this game isn’t easy.
“Just don’t stop, no matter what! Always work on bet- tering yourself as an artist! Believe in yourself! You can do it.”

NEW YORK, NY – JAY-Z and Rihanna are providing help during the coronavirus pandemic. Hov’s Shawn Carter Foundation and RiRi’s Clara Lionel Foundation have teamed up for a $2 million do- nation to assist COVID-19 re- lief efforts in New York and Los Angeles.
“In times of crisis, it is im- perative that we come together as one community to ensure that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, has access to critical needs: shelter, health, nutrition and education,”
JAY-Z AND RIHANNA
Hov’s mother Gloria Carter, who serves as his foundation’s CEO, said in a
press release. “The only way to get through this pandemic is with love and action.”
Lil Wayne Has A Favorite Rapper In 2020
Lil Wayne has famously been uninformed about the new generation of rappers, but one artist has made it onto his radar. During an appearance on Sneaker Shopping With Complex, Weezy casually re- ferred to Lil Baby as his “fa- vorite artist.”
“On The Breakfast Club, I
LIL WAYNE
saw my favorite artist Lil
Baby with the BAPE/Coach collaboration jacket,” he said. “And I was like, ‘Is that a Coach? Wifey was like, ‘Bathing Ape collabed with Coach?’ She’s into that, so she’s like Coach is pretty such and such and such ... So, they doing things. Shout out to Bathing Ape.”
Netflix Pledges $100M To Assist Film, Television And Music Industries
Netflix is putting up $100 million to help on-set profes- sionals who are out of work be- cause of the coronavirus, offering assistance to the film, television and music indus- tries.
The streaming giant an- nounced the fund is to “help with hardship in the creative community.” The majority of funding will go toward the pro- duction teams and crews in- volved in now-halted projects.
Netflix has been forced to shut down all production interna- tionally in keeping with gov- ernment-mandated lockdowns
and social distancing.
The financial aid will be
worked out on a per-project basis and provided “in addition to the two weeks pay (they’ve) already committed to the crew and cast on productions.”
Relief will also be extended to the greater film and televi- sion industries — $15 million has been pledged to non-prof- its and third-party organiza- tions including the SAG-AFTRA Foundation COVID-19 Disaster Fund, Mo- tion Picture and Television Fund and Actors Fund.
