Danielle Herrington is trending this week. The 24- year-old model is reportedly the third African American woman to be featured on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in the publica- tion’s 54-year history.
SI debuted the cover ear- lier on Tuesday (Feb. 13). It features the model sporting a pink bikini in front of a tropi- cal background. Herring- ton’s cover comes after other fashion and Hollywood roy- alty. Tyra Banks was report- edly the first black woman to be featured on the cover in 1997. The attorneys for Colin Kaepernick will be digging deep in their effort to prove the league colluded against their client.
Reports on Tuesday indi- cated that Kaepernick’s at- torneys are seeking to depose former Papa John’s Pizza CEO John Schnatter, as well as Jane Goodell, the wife of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
The inclusion of Papa John into this group is notable. Papa John was critical of the NFL’s leadership and in the fall blamed the league and its protests as a potential reason for declining pizza sales. There was a report saying people felt Jerry Jones was behind Papa John’s criticism of the league.
Kaepernick filed a law- suit in October alleging the NFL colluded to keep him out of the league due to his politi- cal beliefs. The legal team has been combing through emails

and text records looking for signs of collusion. They are seeking to depose many figures about the subject in addition to Schnatter and Mrs. Good- ell.
The lawyers also are look- ing to depose NFL owners, head coaches, GMs and execu- tives. The list includes Jerry Jones, Robert Kraft, Bob McNair, John Harbaugh, Pete Carroll, Ozzie New- some, John Schneider, Troy Vincent and Arthur McAfee.

Danielle reportedly started modeling at the age of 13, but it wasn’t until she turned 21, that she packed her bags and moved from her home in Compton, California to New York City. Only four months after moving, she landed her first gig with Sports Illustrated. Herrington commented on her new cover, saying that it was “the best day of my life.”
