Police Recover Body From Hillsborough River
Police Search For Missing HCC Student
The Tampa Police Department Dive Team recovered a body from the Hillsborough River on Mon- day. The body was apparently found in the Sulphur Springs area.
No additional information was available at press time.
BRUCE KEVIN RIVERA Reported Missing
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is currently attempting to locate a 19-year-old student who has not been seen since Saturday morning. The student lives in Zephyrhills and attends Hillsborough Community Col- lege.
According to police, Bruce Kevin Rivera was possibly last seen near the Sulphur Springs Park. His family told police that it is not of character for him to not contact his fam- ily.
Anyone with any informa- tion about Rivera is asked to contact the Tampa Police De- partment.
Murder Victim Found In North Tampa Road
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is currently investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the road. The body was discovered on Sun- day morning.
Police responded the 9700 block of Commerce Street and located the body. The man,
who has not been identified, is described as a light-skinned Black or Hispanic male. He is described as being 5’8”, and weighing about 145 pounds.
The man is between 20 to 25 years of age and was wear- ing diamond earrings and black Addidas tennis shoes.
Anyone with information pertaining to the man’s iden- tity is asked to contact the Tampa Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873- TIPS (8477). Tips can be re- ported anonymously and tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
Man Drops Gun On Floor Inside Westshore Theater
At 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Tampa Police received a 9-1-1 call from a patron at the West- shore AMC Theater who said there was a man inside one of the theaters who was handling
a handgun.
Police responded and said
a man with a valid concealed firearms carry permit seated in the theater accidental dropped his handgun to the floor and
retrieved and reholstered it. Officers determined the firearm fell out of the holster, and was not removed. There were no criminal violations
and the man was released.
Police Investigate Shooting
Tampa Police responded to a reported shooting at 2:11 a.m. Sunday at 15th Street and 8th Avenue.
Officers on the scene said an adult victim received a non-
life threatening gunshot wound to his arm. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and no suspect information has been released at this time.
Brandon Man Shot Outside Recording Studio Dies
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently in- vestigating a fatal shooting. The shooting took place out- side a recording studio on when the shooting took place, around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Ivan Parker, II, 25, of Brandon, was stand- ing outside of a makeshift recording studio at 6209 N. 50th Street. The studio was lo- cated in a storage unit, police said.
Friends at the studio, told police that Parker was stand- ing outside of the studio when they heard gunshots. When they went outside, they discov- ered Parker lying on the
ground. The friends place Parker in their car and drove him to the Veteran’s Hospital, where he later died.
Investigators said no mo- tive for the shooting has been established. However, the mur- der does not appear to be ran- dom.
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the person or persons being sought in the case.
