Starting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, January 1, 2017, football and fans will fill the Bay Area for the next week.
Local fans are excited about the events and some plan on attending all 3 football games.
After the Bucs take on the Carolina Pan- thers, the Outback Bowl will be held here in Tampa. The 1 p. m. game at Raymond James Stadium on Monday, January 2, 2017, will fea- ture the Florida Gators against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Then, 1 week later, the Championship Game of College Football will be held at Raymond James Stadium on January 9, 2017.
Two games on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2016 (3 p. m. and 7 p. m.) — Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl — will decide who will be play- ing in the Championship Game in Tampa on Monday, January 9th.
Some fans and players have already come into the area, drawn by the warm weather – sunshine and all.

“Tampa Bay is home of the Stanley Cup Champions, Tampa Bay Lightning and home to the Super Bowl Champs, Tampa Bay Bucca-
neers. Tampa is a vibrant city with a great at- mosphere and has a lot to offer tourists!!! That means the game will be great for the city.”

attending all three games. I’m excited that Tampa is hosting the Championship Game, but disappointed that the Gators won’t be there.” The Florida Gators will be at the Outback Bowl.
“We’re going to have a week of a lot of good football,” Harrell said, “and I can’t wait.
“The game will have a tremendous impact on the City economically and that’s great. There’s an opportunity to create additional jobs for some people as well.”
Harrell would love to see Clemson make it to the Championship Game because of all the local ties on Clemson’s team.

“This is a ‘GREAT OPPORTUNITY’ to show the country that Tampa is a big time city. On a personal note, I am pulling for the Clemson Tigers and Deon
Cain (Tampa Tech) and Ray-Ray McCloud (Sickles HS) of Tampa.”
RICKY SAILOR 2 of the Clemson Tigers went through his program, Unsigned Prep
But so would Ricky Sailor, who had Ray-Ray Mc- Cloud and Deon Cain to come through his program,
Unsigned Prep. In order for that to happen, they’d have to defeat Ohio State in the 7 p. m. game.
“(The Championship Game) It’s great for the area to have such a huge event in Tampa. It would be even greater if Clemson makes it to the championship. So many of the fellows on that team would have an opportunity to come home and play before their community. It would be amazing for them and for kids in the area playing youth football,” Sailor said.
Other than McCloud and Cain, other play- ers from the area on the Clemson team are: Artavis Scott, Clearwater; T. J. Chase, Plant City and Jake Fruhmorgen, Tampa.
