The Upward Bound Program at the University of South Florida is proud to celebrate 50 years (1966-2016) of Pride, Service, and Success during the weekend of September 30-Oc- tober 2, 2016. The program has much to celebrate.
Over the last five decades, at least 95% of all USF Upward Bound students graduated from high school and were ac- cepted into a college. More than 80% enrolled in college by the fall semester after they graduated from high school. More than 60% of recent grad- uates completed a two-year or four-year college degree, a sta- tistic higher than the national average for all students and five times higher than the rate of low-income and first-genera- tion students nationwide.
“Over 3,000 alumni have come through the program and today are doing amazing things locally and abroad,” states cur- rent Program Director, Ray- mond Cabrera. He believes the program’s success “has been the result of working hand in hand with University per- sonnel, Hillsborough County Schools, community partners, and Upward Bound families.”

May she (he) not live in guilt and condemnation, but
