Sick And Shut-Ins
Lifting up our fellow Vil- lagers and friends in prayer: Mary Hobley, Johnnie Mae Garner, Marion Washington, Ernestine Turner, Odessa and Charles Roberts, Gwen- dola Small, Hilrie Kemp, Harold Williams, Rob-
bin Taylor, Robert Leek, Sr., Hazel Kennedy, Flora Jones and Clennie McCray.
Expressions Of Sympathy
Our prayers and condo- lences to Mr. Hilrie Kemp and family at the recent pass- ing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Bertha Kemp was a long time resident of the community and involved in furthering the lives and edu- cations of many of our youths through her work with the Progress Village Foundation and the Progress Village Civic Council.
We also extend our prayers and condolences to the families of Dremaine Johnson and James Nicholas.
“Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.”
‘Blessed’
The Progress Village com- munity was “Blessed” to have weathered the recent storm and rains associated with Hurricane Irma. We had minimal damage and limited power outages. So much to be “Thankful” for!
A big shout out to
Twanda Bradley, De- laney Pittman and others who walked the streets going door to door to ensure every- one that lost power were taken care of, providing food, water and whatever assis-
tance was needed. Once again the Village rises to the needs.
PV4LIFE ‘Prayer Time’
So much has been going on lately in the community with the recent murders and shootings in and around the community. We need to stop and take a moment to PRAY that Peace, Love and Under- standing find its way back into the hearts of everyone. It’s time to Uplift and not Tear down. Remember a Vil- lage is as strong as the people in it!
HART Bus Route Changes
Reminder that beginning Sunday, October 8th HART buses will no longer have stops within the Progress Vil- lage community. The bus stops will now be on the main entries of the commu- nity, for example along 78th St. and down Progress Blvd. New shelters and benches are being installed where needed.
