Lil Jon Detained In Vietnam Over $400K Worth Of Jewelry

AUSTRALIA – Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am detailed an inci- dent on a flight that led to po- lice confronting him at an airport in Australia on Friday (November 15). The veteran artist claimed a flight atten- dant acted unprofessionally during his travels and ac- cused her of being racist for calling the cops.

VIETNAM – Lil Jon had too much bling for his own good during his travels in Vietnam on Friday (November 15).
The King Of Crunk revealed he was detained for hours at Tan Son Nhat Int’l Airport due to not properly declaring his expensive jewelry. As a result, the United States Embassy had to get in- volved to help him leave the country.
“I was detained for about six hours because of my jewelry, which was also temporarily seized,” he said in a statement to XXL. “I was not aware that, when arriving, you have to de- clare any jewelry [gold, dia- monds, rubies, etc.] that exceeds $12,000 US dollars... and the jewelry I had with me was worth over $400,000.
“Immediately I told someone traveling with me to call the U. S. Embassy when it started to look like I wouldn’t be able to leave the country until the situa- tion was resolved. U. S. Embassy reps came to the airport and we

had a formal meeting with my- self, them, and representatives from the Vietnamese govern- ment.”
The situation was eventually resolved, allowing Jon to travel to his scheduled gig in Macau.
“They agreed to let me go with a warning in good faith be- tween the Vietnamese govern- ment and the U. S. government,” he noted. “After it was resolved, I caught the next flight to Macau for my show [that night] for the F1 Rac.

'The Only Superstar Is Jesus': Kanye West Speaks At Lakewood
HOUSTON -- Kanye West attended the Sunday morning service at Lakewood Church.
After the service concluded, Kanye sat down with Pastor Joel Osteen to speak about his faith.
"God has been calling me for a long time," said West. "The devil has been distracting me for a long time."
West addressed the contro- versy Osteen has faced from the Christian community.
"There's a lot of people in the Christian community that give Joel a hard time because when you turn on the video, he keeps showing you how good God is," said West.
West told the congregation how Osteen has inspired him to be positive.
"When you remove the fear and love of God, you create the fear and love of everything else," he began before shifting to a more positive note. "Reinstate the fear and love of God and eliminate the fear and love of

everything else."
He said he learned to be pos-
itive in his faith from Osteen. West spoke about how he feels many producers, musi- cians, artists, designers and business people aren't working
towards their faith.
"The greatest artist that God
ever created is now working for him," said West, referring to himself. "I'm here in service to God. No weapon formed against me shall prosper."
On a more humble note, West said, "The only superstar is Jesus."
Lauryn Hill Returns With 1st Solo Song In 5 Years 'Guarding The Gates'
While Lauryn Hill has stayed busy touring for the 20th anniversary of The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, she hasn’t released a proper solo album since, well, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill.
But on Friday (November 15), the ex-Fugees member dropped ” Guarding The Gates,” her first solo single since 2014’s “Black Rage,” which she dedicated to the people of Ferguson, Missouri after Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police of- ficer.

“Guarding The Gates”
comes from the soundtrack for the Lena Waithe- scripted film Queen & Slim, which features the breakout star from Get Out Daniel Kaluuya and newcomer Jodie Turner-Smith.
The trailer for the film featured music from The Pharcyde and the sound- track itself boasts music from Vince Staples, Megan Thee Stallion and Blood Orange, among oth- ers.
Queen & Slim hit theaters nationwide on November 27.
