ripped fellow Hall of Famer John Stockton for his com- ments on the COVID-19 pan- demic.
Stockton wrongly claimed that 150 athletes have died from taking the COVID-19 vac- cine, and Abdul-Jabbar re- sponded in an interview with CNN’s John Berman.
“I think statements like that make the public look upon ath- letes basically as dumb jocks, for trying to explain away something that is obviously a pandemic,” Abdul-Jabbar said.
Abdul-Jabbar went on to explain his support for testing and vaccinations to help end the pandemic that has ravaged the United States and the world since 2020.
“I don’t understand anyone saying anything else,” Abdul- Jabbar said. “It doesn’t make sense what he’s saying. This is a preventative measure that has been useful in many differ- ent circumstances.”

LeBron James is the biggest NBA player right now and a globally renowned ath- lete. On the court, he has done it all, achieving all major ac- colades in the NBA. He has won multiple MVPs, multiple Finals MVPs, All-Star selec- tions, All-NBA selections, All- Defensive selections, Championships, everything. He is the perfect basketball player and a leader any team could ask for.
But, it was Gloria James who raised LeBron in the small town of Akron in Ohio, going through all the hard- ships. Gloria had LeBron when she was just 16 years old. The mother-son duo had to move from apartment
to apartment in Akron while Gloria had to do multiple jobs to make the ends meet for them.
So, ahead of Gloria James’ 54th birthday, it was only fair that King James made this day as special for her as she has made James’ life. To this cause, LeBron decided to surprise his mother by gifting her a Mercedes Benz SUV. Gloria couldn’t help but ex- press her excitement and love via an Instagram post.
She wrote – “Thank you my caring and giving son, for my early surprise birthday gift! You’re always thinking of and doing things to help make my life easier and make me happy. Love you infinity”
Stockton has been very outspoken against the vaccine, but Abdul-Jabbar pointed out that Stockton’s claims are not based on facts.
“I think John’s reaction to the vaccine is extreme and not based on reality or facts,” said Abdul-Jabbar. “If John could just check the facts out he would understand that this vaccine is saving lives and pre-
venting people from having se- rious reactions to the virus. It won’t eliminate the virus overnight, but it will stop peo- ple from dying and will stop people from becoming seri- ously ill.”
While the COVID-19 vac- cine doesn’t make one immune to the virus, it reduces the chance of being hospitalized or dying from the coronavirus.
