A young Black woman who was found dead after a date withamanshehadmetona dating app died of “acute in- toxication” from a combina- tion of drugs and alcohol, according to the Connecticut chief medical examiner’s of- fice. The December death of Lauren Smith-Fields, 23, was ruled an “accident” after it was found she had died “due to the combined effects of fen- tanyl, promethazine, hydrox- yzine and alcohol.”
Smith-Fields’ family has said they will continue to de- mand answers in the case,
with plans to sue the city of Bridgeport and its police de- partment over their handling of the case. NBC News re- ported last week that the fam- ily considered it “unacceptable” that Smith- Fields’ date, the last person she’d been seen alive with, had not been named a person of interest in the investigation.
“The Police Department has been racially insensitive to this family,” a notice of claim, filed Friday as a part of the planned suit, said, “and has treated this family with no respect and has violated their civil rights.”
Free agent wide receiver An- tonio Brown wants to play for the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, the former Tampa Bay Bucca- neers star said.
Brandon Marshall asked Brown who "the next quarter- back in line" was for him in his career. Brown responded with "Action Jackson."
"Let's give Lamar Jackson his flowers. ... Shout out Lamar Jackson," Brown said. "That's it. Lamar Jackson is a great quarterback. Not only him throwing the ball, the dynamic of him playing and the excite- ment."
Jackson responded to the comments by liking a link to the clip on Twitter, retweeting the video and posting a devil emoji. Wide receiver Marquise "Hol- lywood" Brown, Brown's

DUI Arrest: ‘We’re Going
The lawyer who helped then- President Donald Trump cook up plans to overturn the 2020 election reportedly refused to answer nearly 150 questions from the House panel investi- gating the Capitol riot. John Eastman spoke to the crowd of Trump supporters who went on to ransack the Capitol on Jan. 6 and was the author of a noto- rious memo on how Mike Pence could subvert the 2020 election result.
Citing a lawyer for the House, CNN reports that Eastman in- voked his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimi- nation in response to 146 ques- tions from the panel, and
Tiffany Haddish addressed her recent DUI arrest on “The Tonight Show” Monday, telling host Jimmy Fallon that she’s lawyered up and they’re going to “work it out.”
Before diving into the seri- ousness of it, Haddish joked about her love life following her November breakup with Com- mon.
“I can say this, Jimmy ... I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man,” Had- dish shared via video call, “and God went ahead and sent me four ... in uniform.”
When the audience’s laugh- ter died down, the “Night School” star, 42, said her attor- ney is dealing with the ramifi- cations.
“And now I got a really great lawyer, and we’re going to work it out,” she explained. “I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better!”
Fallon, 47, replied, “Yeah,

CNN reports that, on Mon- day, a federal judge ordered
Eastman to respond to a House subpoena of his former employer, Chapman University, for his emails. The ruling means the House panel should gain ac- cess to information it’s been seeking for months.
Mayor Adams Releases Blueprint To End Gun Violence In New York City
NEW YORK – New York City Mayor Eric Adams Tuesday released a “Blueprint to End Gun Violence” in New York City, which lays out numerous policy proposals Mayor Adams is seeking to imple- ment to curb the scourge of gun violence plaguing New York City streets. The roadmap lays out Mayor Adams’ priorities to immediately address the cri- sis of guns on New York City streets.
“Gun violence is a public health crisis that continues to threaten every corner of our city,” said Mayor Adams. “We pray for all the victims of vio- lence and their families who are suffering, but we are going to do more than pray — we’re going

to turn our pain into purpose. Public safety is my administra- tion’s highest priority, which is why we will remove guns from our streets, protect our commu-
nities, and create a safe, pros- perous and just city for all New Yorkers.”
Mayor Adams’ roadmap calls for both intervention and prevention to end the gun vio- lence epidemic affecting New York, and calls on the federal government and New York state to partner with his admin- istration and other city entities to take immediate action to re- duce gun violence.
Over the longer term, Mayor Adams also plans to transform New York City and address the root causes that lead to gun vi- olence by growing economic opportunities, improving the education of city children, pro- viding greater access to mental health support, and more.
