Wizards Trade Dwight Howard To Grizzlies For C. J. Miles
DWIGHT HOWARD
Dwight Howard is on the move yet again.
The Washington Wizards have agreed to a trade that will send the veteran center to the Memphis Grizzlies in ex- change for C.J. Miles. The Grizzlies are reportedly ex- pected to trade or waive Howard.
Wherever Howard ends up, he will likely be playing for his fifth team in five years.
Howard ended up play- ing only nine games with the Wizards after signing with the team on a two-year, $10.9 million deal as he was bought out by the Charlotte Hornets last offseason.
A butt injury forced Howard to miss all of pre- season and the first seven games of the regular season. The big man’s season ended when he underwent spinal surgery at the end of Novem- ber. He averaged 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in his short time with the Wiz- ards.

With a split decision win over Thiago "Sledgeham- mer" Santos, Jon "Bones" Jones managed to hang onto his title Saturday at UFC 239 in Las Vegas. San- tos, to his credit, was fighting hurt, and one judge still had him down as the winner.
That upset would've been a blockbuster, too -- Jon Jones hasn't lost a match since 2009. Santos made him work hard, though, and the judges' scorecards re- flected how close Santos came, losing by one point on two, with the third judge scor- ing a one-point win for the Brazilian light heavyweight.
Santos could've called it, as it was evident he'd injured his leg. Still, he kept going with solid counterpunches and strikes. At the halfway point, something clicked for Jones, and he stayed in rhythm for the rest of the match. He never tried for a takedown, however, and his explanation after the match revealed a mature tactician.
"I felt like I was winning," Jones said, "There's no need togoforashotwhenweare playing a high level of chess in there. Anytime you out kick a guy who is a black belt in muay Thai, you shouldn't get yourself down."
Rockets 'Long Shot' To Grab Westbrook
The Houston Rockets are among the teams interested in trading for Oklahoma City All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook, sources with knowledge of the team's thinking.
One Rockets source, how- ever, described trading for Westbrook as a "long shot" due to the challenge of find- ing pieces that fit with the Thunder or pulling off a complicated multi-team deal.
Westbrook, 30, has spent his entire 11-year ca- reer in Oklahoma City, but the franchise seems primed for a rebuilding period after receiving a record haul of five future first-round picks and All-Rookie point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the George deal. The Thun- der also received forward Danilo Gallinari in the

trade, but the veteran versa- tile scoring threat could be rerouted to another team.
The Athletic reported that the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons also have interest in Westbrook, who averaged 22.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.9 assists last season, marking the third consecu- tive campaign he averaged a triple-double.
