chance they would get back together,” a relative tells the

Ebony Magazine is mak- ing headlines once again over its unsavory business prac- tices with freelance writers.
The Root has learned that the publication allegedly fired its online editorial staff with- out pay on June 7, according to two sources.
Former social media direc- tor Joshua David and an additional source who re- quested anonymity out of fear of not receiving their back pay, confirm that the digital editorial staff—comprised of three writers, one videogra- pher and David—were termi- nated via a call from a human resources representative, subsequently identified as Elizabeth Burnett, vice president of operations of Clear View Group, the Austin- based investor group that owns Ebony and its sister publication Jet.
David also provided The Root with a recorded phone call and an email to support his claims.
It was previously reported how Ebony was being pressed by the National Writers Union to pay more than $200,000 it alleged the mag- azine owed to freelance writ- ers who contributed stories back in 2017, per Chicago Tribune. The drama sparked the hashtag #EbonyOwes on Twitter.
David tells The Root that he has had concerns about the company’s handling of freelancers since then. Things

came to a head on May 30, “when while conducting an interview for a future story, he received the following email informing him of a “delay in payroll” the day be- fore he was to receive his pay- check,” The Root writes.
“There was no confirma- tion as to when [we would be paid],” David said. “Only that they don’t have the capi- tal to pay us.”
As a result, according to both sources, the digital edi- torial staff decided to institute a work stoppage until they were compensated for their contributions to the publica- tion. Both sources then con- firmed that on June 7, after being locked out of various company accounts, the entire online editorial staff was ter- minated by phone.
According to the report, neither source has received their overdue payments or any form of severance.
RHOA’s NeNe Leakes: ‘Spinoff Reports Are Fake News, I’m Filming Season 12’
NeNe Leakes the always controversial and entertain- ing reality star wants you to know what the real deal is with her concerning the The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
In a new radio interview, with Vic Jagger of Wash- ington, DC’s MAJIC 102.3/92.7, Leakes updated fans on her husband, Gregg (“He is free of cancer!”) – and set the record straight on a number of other things she wanted to discuss since the end of season 11. You know, things like being accused of physically assaulting a cam- eraman and falling out with most of her co-stars and now former friends.
Because of that, it has been reported that she’s been forced to sit out the first half of the upcoming 12th season of RHOA. Leakes said it ain’t true.
“I have never been sus- pended. I am on season 12, thank you very much. Stop reading the blogs.”
NENE LEAKES
She also said it’s fake news that she landed her own spinoff.
“No, that’s not true. If I’ve gotten a spinoff they haven’t told me yet, and I need them to tell me... I haven’t filmed a thing. I read that too. If I had a spinoff I would be happily telling you. We read a lot of stuff and then we start laugh- ing about it... like, ‘I got a spinoff. That’s really nice that
they’re saying I got a spinoff. It would be nice if I had one, but honestly, I don’t have one.”
So yes, the upcoming sea- son 12 should be a good one, set up by all the drama NeNe was involved in during sea- son 11. There’s the huge falling out with her best friend, Cynthia Bailey over speculation that Bailey set her up to film with arch nemesis and former cast member, Kenya Moore.
Also, her friendships with Porsha Williams and Kandi Burruss were put on a fast track to hell when Williams and Burruss went into her closet without her permission, causing her to basically assault a camera- man ’cause she was so pissed.
And since, Williams and Burruss also hinted that Leakes got physical with Williams who was pregnant at the time, we can imagine there is so much more Leakes-led drama to come.
