MR. ALVIN GARRICK BARNES, SR.
Mr. Alvin Garrick Barnes, Sr., passed on October 4, 2020.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 11 a. m. at Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, Florida, with Pas- tor Benjamin Curry, officiating. In- terment will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Alvin Garrick Barnes, Sr. was born in Tampa, Florida to the parentage of Leonard Barnes and Edna Anderson on October 17, 1971. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Robinson High School and an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mr. Alvin G. Barnes, Sr. was employed with Corrosion Control Specialists.
Mr. Alvin Garrick Barnes, Sr. was preceded in death by: his fa- ther, Leonard Barnes; paternal grandmother, Catherine Barnes; maternal grandmother, Annie Bell Anderson; uncles, Henry Felton and Clinton Carswell; and aunt, Mary Jane McGruder.
Mr. Barnes is survived by: chil- dren, Alvleesha Barnes, Abreona Barnes, Quanisha Barnes, Zykuria Barnes, Alvin Barnes Jr., Zauria Barnes, Adrienne Barnes, Adrianna Barnes, Victory Barnes and Albery Barnes; 8 grandchildren, Trinity Clark, Dijon Clark, A’jayla Moore, SaviAna Magloire, Ryan Jackson Jr., Aaliyah Magloire, King Legend Monsalvatge and Royal Brown; mother, Edna Anderson; step- mother, Patricia Barnes; siblings, Julius Anderson, Angela Giddens and husband David, Lynette Barnes, Wynette Barnes and husband, Johnny; step-sister, Tameka Barnes; uncles, Henry Felton and Clinton Carswell; 11 nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews; cousins, Rickey Felton, Gregory Carswell, Rico Carswell, Micheal Anderson, James Ander- son, Jr., Lil Kenneth Patterson, Lashawdra Smith, Lillian Barnes; girlfriend, Ellen Johnson; child- hood friends, Tyrone Devlin, Carlos, Reggie Jackson, Tyrone Williams, Nick Daniels, Punch Willie, Jeffrey Grier, PeeDitty, Li Ty Underwood and James Brown; other friends, the Barnes family, Central Park Vil- lage family, Port of Tampa family and other sorrowing relatives and friends. AB will be truly missed by his family and friends.
The remains will repose at Wil- son Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida on Friday, October 16, 2020, from 3-8 p. m. RAY WILLIAMS
SR. DEACON WITT SIDNEY GREEN
Senior Deacon Witt Sidney Green, of Tampa, passed away Tues- day, October 6, 2020. A Graveside service was held Friday, October 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Witt Sidney Green was a na- tive of Tampa, Florida, born to Mr. Sidney and Mignon Green. Sidney was educated at Fessenden Acad- emy: a private academy established in 1868 for African American stu- dents.
Sidney continued with his stud- ies at Dillard University, New Or- leans. He is a graduate of the class of 1952. Prior to entering Dillard, Mr. Green had a colorful career in the Armed Forces, both Army and Air Force. After his honorable dis- charge from the military he entered Temple University, Philadelphia and graduated with a Master’s de- gree in Mathematics.
Sidney was a lifetime member of the Tampa Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incor- porated. Brother Green was bap- tized at an early age and was a loyal and faithful member to his family’s church Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Senior Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Male Chorus member, Sanctuary Choir member and the church Treasurer for more than 20 years.
Mr. Green was employed in sev- eral industries, but teaching was his passion. He began teaching while living in Philadelphia and continued to teach over the years: sometimes a teacher, substitute teacher and in his later years a Sunday School teacher.
Mr. Green was a Tampa treas- ure and legend for many. He was ac- tive in his community, always making himself available to those in need, and continued to drive other senior citizens to their appoint- ments and grocery shopping, even at ninety years of age. Witt, (known to most as Sidney), was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, family man, friend and a servant to The Lord.
He was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Bernice Green.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: his brother, Joseph Green of Oakland, CA; his daughter, Julee Green of Atlanta, GA; his step- daughter, Sandra Niles; his stepson- in-law, Ron Niles, both of Tampa: his granddaughter, Ashley Cleve- land of Atlanta; his step grandson, Jaylan Niles, of Tampa; his great granddaughters, Zhaeniya Green and Penelope Nehemiah, both of At- lanta; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
He was well loved and admired by those around him for his gra- ciousness and serving spirit. Arrangements entrusted to RAY WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Rhodes & Northern, Owners.
MS. VALLERY LAVERNE JAFAR
Ms. Vallery Laverne Jafar, of Tampa, passed away Friday, Octo- ber 9, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 17, at 2 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa FL 33606. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
Ms. Vallery Jafar was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Robinson High School. Ms. Vallery possessed a degree in nursing and retired as a bus driver from the School District of Hillsborough County.
She leaves to cherish her mem- ory: two loving and devoted daugh- ters, Toccorah Scott-Lewis and husband Maurice Lewis and Tiarrah Neal; brother, Craig Gadsden and wife, Rosemary Gadsden; sisters, Rudene Gadsden and Keril Gordon and husband, Darryl Gordon; granddaughters, Imani Nobles, Emari Lewis and Promise Barker, grandsons, Chase Mention and Chance Mention; nephews, Robbin Tramel, the late Darryl Gordon, II, Reshard Anderson and Keron Gor- don; nieces, Dr. Karmen Gadsden and Kimberly Gadsden and a host of cousins, other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Mr. Esau Word of Tampa, Florida, passed away Sunday, Oc- tober 4, 2020, at his residence. Honoring the request of Esau, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL. There will be no repast.

Esau Word was a native of Miami, Florida. After 26 years in the United States Air Force, he re- tired in Tampa, Florida.
He was preceded in death by: his parents Jack Word and Orcela Stubbs Word.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ories: his wife of 38 years, Linda Word; his children, Esau, Jr., Di- waine, Jeff, Ricky, Andre, Kat- rina, and Shauntae; his great, great niece, Siyani (who gave him so much happiness having guardianship over her); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. Lillian Patricia Bryant was preceded in death by: her parents, Robert Griffin, Elizabeth Handy, and sibling, Eddie Griffin.
Lillian Patricia Bryant, nee Griffin, was born to the parentage of, Robert Griffin and Elizabeth Griffin, nee Handy. Lillian was born on Constant Street in Hills- borough County, Tampa, FL. She was a member of Beth-EL New Covenant Ministries in Tampa, FL, where she was an up and coming minister. She entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 4, 2020, following a long illness.
Lillian is survived by 4 chil- dren, Germaine (wife, Jackie), LaChelle, Capell (wife, LeeAn- dra), and Charmaine (husband, Steven); 8 beautiful grandchil- dren, Amoni, Derrick, PFC An- derson, Elizabeth, twins Olivia and Blake, RJ, and Leilani; sib- lings, Katherine, Kenneth, Grace, Alvalinda,
Ryhmal, Phyllis, Valerie, Marshanna, Christopher, Elena, Camille, Ansel, and Eric; nephew, Omar; mother, Joyce Griffin; stepson, Earl, Jr., as well as nu- merous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
