Toddler Shot In The Leg At Apartment Complex
Shortly after noon on Wednesday, a 21-month-old toddler was shot in the leg. The shooting took place at a public housing complex.
According to the Tampa Po- lice Department, Eduardo Avila, 24, was outside his apartment in the 400 block of N. Hernandez Court when he was approached by two men who allegedly made threaten- ing comments and gestures. Avila went inside the apart- ment and shortly after closing the door, an unidentified sus- pect fired approximately 15 shots into the door and the front of the apartment.

the right thigh. The toddler was transported to a local hos- pital with non-life threatening
injuries, police said.

24, and another child were in- side the apartment at the time of the shooting, but were not injured.
Police said it appears Avila was the intended victim in the shooting. They did not indi- cate what the confrontation was about.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shoot- ing. However, the investiga- tion is continuing.

Burglary Suspects Hit Second Wireless Phone Store
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the second burglary of a wireless store in as many weeks. The most recent burglary took place early Sunday morning.
According to police, at approx- imately 5:18 a.m., two unidenti- fied suspects smashed the front glass door of the Verizon Wire- less Store, 6914 W. Waters Av- enue.
Once inside, the suspects, who were both wearing masks, took four display phones from the shelves and fled the scene. Their images were captured on surveil- lance footage at the store.
Three days before, on Thurs- day, November 10th, unidenti- fied suspects gained entry into the T-Mobile Store, 815 East Brandon Blvd., by breaking through the concrete wall at the rear of the business.
Once inside, they disabled the alarm system and the cellular backup system.
The suspects used a cutting wheel to break into the safe and took cash. They also went to the cell phone storage case and re- moved several cell phones and other electronics valued at $150,000.

Police Identify Suspect In North Tampa Bank Robbery
The University of South Florida Police Department is currently investigating a strong-armed robbery. The of- fense took place at approxi- mately 9:15 p.m., Tuesday, outside the interdisciplinary Science Building.
The unidentified female stu- dent told police she was ap-
proached by two white males in their early 20s. The men re- portedly took her jewelry and fled the scene.
The victim was not injured and the investigation is con- tinuing. Anyone with informa- tion is asked to contact the USF Police Department at (813) 974-2628.

At approximately 2 p.m., Wednesday, a man walked into a North Tampa bank, handed the teller, a note stat- ing he was armed, and de- manded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the scene on foot.
Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s deputies responded to the Chase Bank, 2802 E. Fletcher Avenue, after receiving notifi- cation of the robbery. The in- vestigation revealed that the note the man produced stated that he was “heavily armed.”
The man was described as being between 25 and 30 years of age. He is approximately 6’8” tall with a thin build, short hair, mustache and goatee.
He was last seen wearing a maroon checkered shirt under a black jacket, and blue jeans
with white discolorations on the front. He was also carrying a black backpack.
On Thursday, detectives identified the suspect as 31- year-old Paul Lubin. Lubin is described as being 6’8” inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. Lubin was still at large at press time. However, the Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office has obtained a war- rant for his arrest.
There is also an active war- rant for his arrest out of Miami. The charge on that warrant is robbery with a deadly weapon, police said.
