Last Wednesday, Fifth Third Bank announced that a regional president had received a promo- tion.

David A. Call has been named as Regional President with the bank to replace Lamb.
For several years, Lamb has served as President of the Bank’s North Florida region, based in Tampa.
In a newly created role, Lamb will be accountable for the comprehensive strategic framework of the Bank’s civic commitments and reputation management. He will oversee several areas, including Com- munity Economic Development, the Bank’s Community Develop- ment Corporation (CDC), Cor- porate Communications, Diversity & Corporate Social Re- sponsibility and Ethics.

The promotion requires that Lamb, his wife, Mrs. Paulette Lamb, and two daughters, Ava and Cenai, will relocate to Cincinnati, Ohio. “They are ex- cited about the move. But, my wife is from Tampa and Tampa will always be home.”
Lamb, 40, is a member of several civic and professional or- ganizations and has been recog- nized on numerous occasions, including recently receiving an honorary doctoral degree from Bethune-Cookman University. This year, he was named to the
Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame.
Lamb graduated from both the University of South Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s de- gree in accounting, and the Stonier Graduate Banking School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Lamb was hired by Fifth Third Bank in 2006 as Chief Fi- nancial Officer of the Tampa Bay region.
Ms. Teresa Tanner, Chief Administrative Officer said, “We are thrilled to name a leader with Lamb’s experience and track record to this newly cre- ated and key position at Fifth Third. He brings a high degree of personal passion in serving and collaborating with the com- munity. Brian is an outstand- ing banker who has produced stellar results for both the Bank and the community.”
Greg D. Carmichael,
President and CEO of Fifth Third Bancorp, said, “I could not be more pleased to place Brian in this critical role. At a time when industry reputation and community commitment are paramount to our customers and stakeholders, Brian is not only a demonstrated civic leader, but also a model of per- sonal integrity and tireless cus- tomer focus.”
Children’s Board To Release $10.8 Million In Grant Funding
The Governing Board of the Children’s Board of Hillsbor- ough County approved a rec- ommendation to release new funding using a competitive application process. The Board’s approval of the release of the $10.8 million in funding took place last Thursday.
The new funding in the amount of $10,300,000 for Fiscal Year 2018 begins Octo- ber 1, 2017 and ends Septem- ber 30, 2018; for the Leading (grants up to $65,000), and Uniting Grants, (grants up to $525,000). The Request for Proposals will be an opportu- nity for the community to pro- vide quality services for children and families in the Children’s Board focus areas:
The projected release of the request for proposals for the Leading and Uniting Grants is November 2016 with applica- tions due in March 2017.
The Governing Board au- thorized the release of $250,000 for a time limited Leading Grant for 2017 Sum- mer Services. The Children’s Board has provided funding for quality summer programming for the past two years in a con- certed effort to increase capac-
ity and improve the quality of summer programming for local youth.
The request increases the amount allocated for Summer Services in 2016 by $50,000. The increase is due partially to the longer summer break for Hillsborough County students. The anticipated release for this grant is February 2017.
Additionally, the Governing Board authorized a $250,000 Uniting Grant to provide uni- versal training to Early Educa- tion Providers in social-emotional learning. The grant will specifically seek an agency that has the capacity to both administratively and pro- grammatically a develop coun- tywide training plan in Conscious Discipline. The in- tent of the Conscious Disci- pline to serve as the foundation for constructive problem-solv- ing, allowing children to be successful in their early years and to be ready for kinder- garten. The anticipated release for this grant is November 2016.
Any updates or funding op- portunities will be available on the Children’s Board website at www.childrensboard.org.
