Boyfriend Accused Of Hurting Baby
A 25-year-old man was arrested and is being held under a $200,000 bond. He is accused of severely injur- ing a 3-month-old infant.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Brandon Regional Hospi- tal early Friday in reference to an injured 3-month-old. When they arrived, they were told that the infant’s mother brought her to the hospital around 4 a.m.
The mother said she had left the little girl in the care of her live-in boyfriend, De- marcus Lamar John- son, while she worked the overnight shift. The boyfriend, who is not the fa- ther of the child, was the

sole care provider during the mother’s absence, police said.
Upon bringing the infant to the hospital, medical per- sonnel determined that the baby had multiple skull
fractures with swelling on her brain.
The infant was trans- ported by helicopter to All Children’s Hospital, in St. Petersburg. The infant un- derwent emergency surgery and was listed in critical condition.
Johnson was arrested around 9:45 p.m., Friday. He was charged with aggra- vated child abuse and is cur- rently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail.
Detectives said the case remains active and under investigation. No informa- tion that will lead to the identity of the child will be released because it is a child abuse case, police said.
2-Hour Manhunt For Stolen Car
Ends With Arrest
A 26-year-old man was ar- rested after more than a two- hour manhunt. He was taken into custody after a foot pur- suit.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the inci- dent began around 9:41 p.m., Thursday, when officers 0bserved a car that had been stolen. The car was observed at Osborne and N. 22nd Street. When officers attempted to stop the 2017 Silver Ford Mustang, near N. 30th Street and E. Osborne, the driver fled the scene. The officers began to pursue the vehicle. The driver crashed the car into a fence near N. 50th Street, just north of Hillsbor- ough Avenue.
The suspect fled on foot and the Tampa Police Offi- cers, along with the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office established a large perimeter in the area.
After more than two hours, K9 Officer Xavier located Andre Antonio Parker, of Ruskin, and he

was taken into custody. Parker was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for an injury to his left ankle. He is facing several charges including grand theft auto, aggravated fleeing to elude, leaving the scene of an accident, and pos-
sible other charges.
Police said the vehicle was
taken during an armed car- jacking at Club Hush last Sunday.
